i prefer that misled 'pencil' penetration and melting trick from penguinmagic.com ! Pencil can even be given as a souvineer.

Kenny - January 15, 2006 11:25 AM (GMT)
Stealth Pen 's brand is Kilometrico ?

Hehe i prefet pen that has Kilometrico on it . Looks more innocent .

@Jabz :

Which one you are refering ? Pencil can be given as souvenir ?

Paul Long - January 16, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)

A|bert - January 17, 2006 12:36 PM (GMT)

yea thats rite... the pencil can be given as a souviner, i bet you can't give away your pen.

Yusri - January 28, 2006 01:56 PM (GMT)
Misled ? isnt it Misleading Misled..
Misleading Misled is another version of Pen Thru Dollar Bill..with melting effect..

Kam - January 28, 2006 02:01 PM (GMT)
Misleading Misled is a non gimmicked version of Misled (which is a pencil through bill effect).

Jay Sankey also has an impromptu, ungimmicked pencil/pen through bill, it's called Dough. But I don't know... I figured it out the first time I saw it, but to many other people, it's a total baffler.

Eric Liew - January 28, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
I think Dough is the best non gimmicked pen thru dollar bill out there..
but the downside of it is u need a ..erm, what do u call that thing..the yellow sticker thingy...

Johnny - February 1, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
Hey dude. i would suggest misled. This is because it has the melt thru effect. The pencil and everything can be examine. The gimmick is cheap as compared to others. If you broke your stealth pen/b2bomber, you probably have to get another one. i have a way to make the gimmick of misled and you can make tons of it cheaply. For anyone who wishes to know How can PM me with some prove that you own misled and i am willing to teach it to you.
If you hate gimmick type you can purchase misleading misled with has the same effect as misled but WITHOUT gimmick. Both is good.
Theres still other Pen/pencil thru dollar effect not discussed here. Do a search and make a wise choice!

good luck!

Jarrett Goh - March 8, 2006 01:15 PM (GMT)
Innocent dude! lol jk jk...I get what you mean by innocent...go for stealth pen, looks very innocent coz if I'm not mistaken theres a "kilometrico" sign on the pen,B-2 Bomber got "Parker" sign on it,one cis Malaysian brand name, the other one(b-2 Bomber) is U.K brand, but go for stealth pen anyways.Trust me,it suits innocent people like you coz it looks so innocent! haha

I use pencil as I think after the performance, a great impact to given out the pencil out as a souvenir. B)

Cheers,
Andrew

Jarrett Goh - March 10, 2006 09:47 AM (GMT)
Andrew, next time when you do that impromptu pencil through bill tell them that they can make the pencil go through your bill too...and oh ya,say the pencil is for them, and let them see their dollar bill with holes haha!...I once penetrate a RM50 that belongs to a girl, she was with a bunch of girls.Nice to show magic to girls,I've gone crazy with girls!jk jk back to the story,I told them to try and penetrate with my own pen and when they did...hehe I'm so evil! There was a huge hold through a RM50 bill!!! Good thing I took that pen back and ran fast enough lol.I better not do that again, feel so bad lol!

Sukyi - March 10, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
hahaha... jarett very mean!

a few day ago, in my econs class, we were learning about money... then i took out a rm1 note and put the pen thru it... and asked my lecturer "does money still have value when it has a pen going thru it?" haha... she was so shocked... then i pulled it out... loud ripping noise... but no hole in the note... i was laughing my head off because of her reaction.. my classmates were all confused... hahaha

Jarrett Goh - March 10, 2006 01:48 PM (GMT)
Wah...nice idea....especially when you're in econ class talking about money, very very cool.I can adi imagine the teacher thinking about what material is money made from lol

Sukyi - March 10, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
just came back from mamak with some friends... they all suddenly into magic also... so asked me to show tricks... so i showed TRICKS(non-magical)... haha... and then did pen thru dollar also... most of them knew how it worked... but one guy was soooooo shocked about the tearing sound... hahaha...

Jarrett Goh - March 10, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
What pen you use for the trick,I ue B-2 Bomber...haha,if they got motivation to learn then maybe you can give them a price and you teach them lar,lol jk jk...but a good idea haha...the tearing sound is what makes the trick so realistic, some shouted "ARH!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!SHIT!!!MY BILL!!!!OI!!!...serious Dawn, its insane, without the tearing sound my ppen thru dollar wont be so realistic haha

Sukyi - March 11, 2006 05:08 AM (GMT)
i use the pen that looks like a parker?... hehe... i dunno what model/etc that is... but it's always fun to say "here... use my pen... the same one i was using... make it go thru YOUR OWN money!"... hahaha... and yeah... the ripping sound is always the best part of the trick... people just freak when they hear it

Jarrett Goh - March 11, 2006 05:14 AM (GMT)
Thats gotta be the B-2 Bomber coz it has the name embossed on the pen saying "Parker made in UK" or something something haha...cool part about this kind of pen is that you can write it as well and penetrate it so it looks very innocent that you can take that very pen itself and write stuff on a piece of paper...very nice gimmick haha

Reno - March 11, 2006 07:18 AM (GMT)
Hi Folks,

This is my point of view with regard to Pen Thru Bill effects :

(1) Pen Thru Anything - My first purchase for this genre, and not recommended because there is a need to switch the pen at the end for the ungimmicked one. Not good.

(2) Perfect Pen - And I agree with Paul Long, this is indeed a very good investment, cos the chrome metal finish is stylish enough for everyday use, and best of all, the mechanism is very well made. Worth the asking price. And you could also add a dab of lubricant/oil at the tip of the pen (for those who have it, you'll understand the rationale behind this) in order to make the pen examinable at the end of the effect.

(3) Misled - Too saturated in the market right now, and a little bit of awkward handling involved. Not recommended as this effect is a little too old, and most (if not all) specs would most probably have seen it somewhere, somehow. you're better off with Just Passing Thru (Russ Niedwiezski) which provides a better handling as well as a multi-phased routine.

(4) Dough - Although impromptu, the pre-requisite of a particular move, that involves a certain folding action, may give away the effect at the end for the more astute/observant spectator as the 'crease' may still be present on the bill at the end of the effect.

(5) Unforgiven : The Ultimate Penetration - This used to be a manuscript that I wanted to market, but I pulled it out of the market simply because it came to my attention that there was already another similar effect that goes by the name of Invisible Hole (by a Jap magician).

The effect is very clean, and incorporates the following :

-Borrowed Pen/Pencil
-Borrowed Bill
-Completely Impromptu
-No gimmicks involved
-No palming
-No sleights
-Zero reset time

For those who are keen, try googling for the Invisible Hole.

That's it, cheers!

Jarrett Goh - March 11, 2006 07:47 AM (GMT)
Wow...nice...gona check it out,thx for sharing with us many of the penetrations

Jeff Gan - March 13, 2006 01:23 AM (GMT)
Reno,

I think I have the trick "invisible hole".

But its got nothing to do with pens, rather, it involves a cup and some coins.

http://murphysmagicsupplies.com/catalog/tr...isiblehole.html

Its gonna be real confusing if there are multiple products out there with the same name.

Jarrett Goh - March 14, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
Hey....actually,sticking back to the topic,Kam said :"The one that you took out of a pencil case....just kidding"...it doesnt nessacariliy be just kidding cause the one that you take out of a pencil case is the most innocent looking one as far as I'm concern cause its ordinary and you can do an impromptu pen through dollar in which you friends can do the same but dont need any switches,etc...I dont have any links to an impromptu pencil through bill effect...wait...I'll check for you first...http://www.weirdthings.com/video.htm perhaps my favorite magician for creativity and practicality...this guy is great...I've been using many of his levitation for months!...here is an impromptu finger through bill that is so visual it will make you scream!Hope this helps

Jeff,

Haha, not THAT one! :)

Yeah, in a way, damn confusing, especially if they started using generic names for titles, that's worst!

@Jarrett : I still prefer Andrew Mayne's Ghost Bills. Review rated it a 10/10. ;)

Andrew Loh - March 21, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
Speaking of pencil thru bill and I always think Misled. The reason I remember because the first time I saw David Copperfield did it, I was speechless!

Currently I am reading Zach Allen Poke, which a variation of Misled, very visual penetration!

Andrew

Sukyi - March 23, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
andrew... reading it? e-book or physical book?

Andrew Loh - March 24, 2006 01:21 AM (GMT)
Hi Sukyi,

Yes, it's in ebook which reading from computer. ^_^ - Sometimes I find myself turn into a China Panda bear, that's why nowadays I don't like to read directly from PC and I just basically print it out and read. ^_^

The effect or Zach version is very clever. Next time when you do any pencil thru bill (David Copperfield's version) and at the end, maybe you would like to end with Allen's version which he used ordinary pencil doing the misled. I think there are other sources also have non-gimmicked version of misled. ;)

I think Allen's version it's very good since this can be done with any borrowed pencil and bill. ^_^

Very visual and I watched his performance, he fooled me really badly. B)

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Andrew
