Alvin Luo - March 16, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
Hey guys i am new here. I have tried doing hot shot cut and i have some problems doin this..i feel like my hand abit small as i cant handle the cards well when i try to cut into half and transfer to bottom..
SOmetimes when i flip the card, it will fly towards me and sometimes fly too far...
anyone can give me some advice?

Erm...I dont find this post an exposure though I can help you...all this it all takes practice, practice, practice, you also need to experiment yourself on how to control your handling so that you'll know how hard and where to apply pressure so that you'll have a good spin...I cant help you,its your own, experiment for yourself.Hope this helps

I'm not sure how you expect this to be discussed in a forum. Its like reading a words only book on how to fluorish.
come for the gatherings when Brendan or Kamil is there and if you ask nicely :P maybe they'll show you how to do it.

True,so true lol...I think you better listen to Jeff lol...writing is almost impossible to learn when it comes to flourish

hehe lol... Goldenrain, i guess i can help u a lil here...
Firstly, i have small hands too... u can ask the rest to justify lol.
Now... which HSC u doing.. the daryl one where u clip the deck between ya first and second finger? that is easy method but i cant do... my fingers aint gonna split so far and its painful LOL
the one i use is a variation of Daryl's or erm... its like Blaine's where u kinda side charlier rotate it to the bottom.
Ok, here's a tip....
I assume u know the method.
1) stretch ya fingers... be loose and let the stack of cards fall sideways and rotate it to the bottom.
2) to get the "choosen" card out, use ya first finger initially and then transfer to ya middle finger to finally shoot it out.
3) direction of the shot of the card will depend on:
- angle of take off
- pressure applied on card
- speed on flick.
- do NOT close the two stack of cards.. the card u shooting out should be loose in between them. V IMPORTANT.
- the crispyness of ya cards... new decks work damn well. Old soft decks... its a No No... its much much harder... u need a good sense of touch and feel to control the flight of the card. hehe
Play with the above and let me know how u go. I hope i helped a lil LOL.
All the best and let me know how you go.
I'll be glad to show u how I do it if I meet u oneday. :P
Brendan
Cheers!
