hey reno... are ya selling normal bike decks?

Hi Sukyi,

At the moment, nope. Because they are readily available locally, either from members of MMF, or Magic Outlets.

The limited supply that we have are set aside as freebies for those who've made purchases from us between the price bracket of RM150 - RM249.

Of course, purchases from RM250 - RM349 entitles you to a Black Deck, whilst purchases above RM350 entitles the buyer to a Black Tiger Deck.

Hope this answers your query above, thank you and have a great weekend Sukyi! :)

Sukyi - April 1, 2006 09:41 AM (GMT)
thanks! :)

Hey Jarrett dude,

You're only 13? Then you're on the right track cos you're starting magic early in your life, and I believed there's alot more the magic community and the magic world would be able to offer you in this wonderful journey into the mystical and vast wonders of this performing art.

And you're right, I've always believed that magic is just a hobby for those who are rich, but then again, it is no doubt a hobby as well for those who are equally "rich", in their thinkings ... Think about it.

Cheers.

Jarrett, I started Magic at the age of 8 ... and I had NO MONEY at all then. All I had was my pair of hands and my desire to be an 8 year old magician.

Eric Liew - April 6, 2006 04:59 AM (GMT)
James, you should share your inspiring story of how you used to persuade your friend and go to the bookstore to learn the magic...hehe

James, are you a full time performer right now? I'm curious, thanks! :)

JamesTong - April 6, 2006 03:04 PM (GMT)
Reno, yes I am a full time professional magician and 39 years old in magic ;)

Besides performing I also teach magic. Currently those under my coaching comprise of amateurs, hobbyists, semi-pros and professionals.

Hi James,

That's great! I'm sure most of us here would benefit tremendously from your guidance and expertise!

You're quite a regular forumer here as well and it is really nice to know that we have such a wide selection of folks congregating in this forum for the common love of this performing art. :)

Jarrett Goh - April 6, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, when I started magic last year I had 10 fingers and 2 hands. After watching Brian Tudor Generation X he taught like a robot and I end up breaking all my fingers coz of his crazy moves.

James, thats what I call self-desire and motivation. Not many have these desire to be something. My lil sis loves magic but gives up TOO fast.I keep telling her to keep practicing but she gives up almost immediately.I told her if you wanna be a 9 year old magician you gotta practice. Not use your allowance and buy your magic props when you're so young and you dont even practice! All you do is say "I CANNOT DO!"...well glad to know many here really love the art of magic.Like me!I prefer creating than to learn. Here's my full listof the things I created. No effect.Probably when the next time I meet you guys then I can share with you all^ ^

non-gimmick invisible deck effect, riffle transpo, non gimmick hopping halves effect, magicians power, casual color change,2 spectator transpo, tea cup penetration, holiday queens,4 ace pop up production, leader aces, confused card transpo(James Tong, its not teh tarik transpo that Brendan is practicing now lol jk jk),and coincedence. If theres more I will edit,my mind when blank lol.Oh ya,another of my latest one card penetration and my coin vanish.Definitely still far away from the number of Jay Sankeys creation(I think he created more than 250 tricks and gimmicks)haha.I only created about 15 in about 5 months.I'm the only one interested in magic in my family.I fool them, especially my dad. He's a business man so he thinks like he knows everything so one day asked me to show him a card trick I think that was about a month ago.that was the 2nd time he asked me to show him a trick. The last time was when I just got started and I just learned my impromptu "find the spectator card effect" but I didnt got to fool him. After he aked me the 2nd time.I then showed him 2cm and riffle transpo. He was stunned and immediately said "Lets go to Genting highland casino and win all the money there"! and I was like ok lets go! haha...he was so stunned and shocked that I never see him react that way since I was born! That is what I think every magician ever wish for, reactions, and also the love from our spectators, making sure they are enjoying the entertainment too.I prefer doing table hopping at restaurants for no money.I'm looking forward to bein g a restaurant magician next time coz at a table you got dozens of ordinary objects waiting for you rather than cardsBack to the topic.that was an absolute kicker haha.thing is,my family get pissed of me holding cards all day long everywhere I go.they will snatch my cards away from my hand and then I would get some coins and do some flourish.then they would snatch away my coin!I then took up some ordinary objects like keys and vanish them and reproduce them then they would snatch the key away! aih aih, leave me with nothing but some nice levitations to practice and this time they cant take away my shoe haha.what I'm trying to say is that if you love magic and seriously want to learn magic then stick with it and it will be all time companion whether its cards or coins.haha.Btw,James tong you want some australian currency,he can exchange them.coins notes, etc.Everybody dont post a reply for me stuff.then this topic would go off topic coz mines has nothing to do with this awesome online magic store!good luck Reno!or,late night show with Jay "Leno" haha ;)

Yes, Reno, it is the love for the art of Magic that keeps us together.

Finally after 3 years of effort I can see MAGIC coming alive in M'sia. Magic lectures, gatherings or get-together, off-line magic shops and online magic storefront coming up, etc - I am really happy to see these things coming up actively.

It is only after 3 years that I decided to go online - especially forums to communicate with the rest. 3 years of hard work training people and getting them matured in the art.

Many of you (even after meeting me personally - only my apprentices have seen my arsenal) have not seen my actual skills yet as I am saving them for the last - meaning more activities coming up.

Keep up the good work everyone. I am proud of all of you. M'SIA BOLEH!!!

JamesTong - April 6, 2006 09:31 PM (GMT)
Any more new products coming in, Reno?

Reno - April 7, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
@Jarrett : This is one of the longest posting I've ever seen from you! That's interesting and food for thoughts. :)

And no worries on going off topic, in fact, I do welcome comments etc of any kind on my thread, be it in this forum or any other forums for that matter. No holds barred. ;)

@James : I'm glad you felt that way, and appreciate the fact that you're dedicated to this art and for sharing your thoughts and knowledge with the rest of us.

Magic in Malaysia has indeed come a long way and seen the light, and this is due in parts to all the avid enthusiasts and serious performers' contribution to this performing art in one way, or another.

Have a great day ahead. :D

Its long...many might not read it lol. Will you be selling items that are below a hundred in the future?

JEUZE - April 7, 2006 09:45 PM (GMT)

@Jeuze : Thanks Jeuze, glad you like it. :)

@James : Yup, we would import a few items at a time, but not more than that.

Notable items or utilities would be a priority, and lesser stress on one-trick pony.

We are also in the midst of doing a PRICE CHECK on some of the items on Paramount Guild, in order to make them more competitive and affordable for local Malaysian buyers.

Eg : Fuse Fire Spirit Writing Solution (@USD25, excluding shipping) was price checked and reduced from RM140 to RM110.

@Jarrett : I would welcome your suggestion for any items that you can think of, that would be lower than RM100 and at the same time, appealing to the local magic community. :)

We should have all the items price checked by Wednesday next week, and some would definitely dip below RM100.
And finally, this is a classification guide for the items that we carry :

(1) Products with "Pricing / No Remarks" -
Presently In Stock

(2) Products with "Remarks : Pre-Order" -
Items we may import sooner or later

(3) Products with "Remarks : By Request" - Items that we would only import at the advice & request of the buyer concerned, a nominal deposit payable in advance

Thanks folks!

Jarrett Goh - April 8, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
Ok,I'll check it out next Wednesday for the price listing and most probably i'll buy some stuff there!

Thanks Jarrett, 90% of the items on Paramount Guild would be price checked by today (Sunday, 9 Apr 2006). The remnants of a selected few would eventually be done before Wednesday.

For price checking process, normally we would compare to the lowest online retailer in the market, which happens to be Hank Lee.

General Rule : The price (USD$) listed on Hank Lee* would be a rough indication of the actual price in MYR$, and which would have also taken into account the following factors as well -

1) UPS Courier Charges
2) Customs Levies, if any
3) Our nominal markup

*some exceptions apply, especially for specialized items featured solely on Hank Lee, items belonging to Porper line, as well as items that are already under a promotional pricing scheme

That's about it folks! :)
