Title: An Alternative To The Bobo Switch
Description: an original coin switch
Larry Barnowsky - April 5, 2006 12:44 AM (GMT)
The Bobo Switch is a valuable sleight which allows the coin worker to switch one coin for another. The move is taught in Ch.2 of
Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. I taught a more convincing switch such that there would be no doubt in the spectator's mind that the coin that was dropped into the hand was indeed the same coin. I accomplished that by making certain that there was a retention of vision effect at the very last moment the coin was switched. This utilizes my original URV technique which some of you may be familiar with. If you haven't seen the
URV Switch before check it out at:

The switch is a combination of 2 sleights.

I'm really happy to see that some think the coin was double-faced. I take that as the highest compliment. :D Of course no gimmicked coins were used, just a silver dollar and a Chinese coin with a hole and The URV Toss Switch from Chapter 13 of my book.
