Hi im new here and i hope the forumers around can give me a lil pointers on purchasing magic items in stores. i've been wanting to get i.t but it seems like i cant seem to get it anywhere. im quite new to magic too, just into it about 3 months still learning the basic and art of magic.
i notice that those stores in shopping malls sells pirated items like the product named i-magic. bicycle decks are named to cycke decks wtf...and the quality of the product isnt that good...but thats the only place that i know which offers magic items.
the other day i ask that dude selling i-magic stuff that i would like to purchase i.t from him and he quote me a price of RM80 for it and if i wanted the instruction cd as weel it would be RM120....i dont know wat brand isit too.. i dont know if its good quality as he doesnt hav it and say i would have to order. i dont know would the quality be as good at pet2.0 or isit expandable. so i would like to ask, is that a fair price?

Mr Jason Wong, regarding to IT. there are several instructional video that i recommend, Ammar's animation n levitation. i find it very informative. It covers IT, EIT, REEL, n etc. Has 3 volumes in total. The second is Jon Leclair-Who's afraid of IT. It shows several different use for his method. i used his method the most.
But in IT work, the most important thing is suitable lighting, surrounding, over head background lighting and etc. these are explained in the videos n can be gained tru experience and experiments. Always check whether its suitable to perform at that particular place AFTER u set up. Means that u first check whether the IT can be easily seen when it is in use. U place the IT infront of u n try to see it. if it is very obvious, skip the trick. if u r having a tough time finding it urself, then ONLY u call attention saying will try something new. prefered if object is borrowed. Avoid very dark place as this would cause ppl to assume ur using thread. Look for low lighting area n away from direct lighting area. There, spectator can c it much CLEARER its free in mid air. passes are important (to show no support). hand out object straight for examination if needed. this will really give a boom to them.
Once i performed, i had spectators 180 degree. 2 spectator beside came close to see (jz about 30cm away) but he stil can see anything. This is because the proper ligthing n color of IT used. another thing to take note is spectator which is very close to u, sometimes they tend to GRAB the object in mid air. Understanding ur spectator and Crowd control is also very important. Remember, in any IT work Lighting and Crowd control is THE important.
Sometimes u may need to break off the IT to avoid suspicious movement n flashes, or even a suspending wax in mid air as it came loose from ur belt o lapel o buttons. For me, IT can be easily be bought and replaced but not the secret. Once it's exposed, its ruin. try ur best to protect the secret and u'll enjoy most from the effect. Happpy Performing.

u can get most of them from local o oversea magic shop. however, it's hard to get ori locally. try penguinmagic, magicproshop n etc. price varies from place to place.
I work with IT quite a bit, and as for lighting, I prefer orange-yellowish lights the best. White neon lights will expose the IT.
Having said that, if you make your own IT, try to experiment with different colors and elasticity/strength types. Certain colors will work in certain lighting conditions, while others may not. There are a few methods to making IT, and even a few different materials. It's best to experiment before actually performing.
