Hi, i'm David from Kuching, i'm relatively new to the world of magic (6 months), but thanks to the magic of the internet, i've been able to learn lots fairly quickly thru penguinmagic, ellusionist etc etc and of course thru this forum :). Nice to meet you all!!!

I've been doing magic since late last year, starting out with basic, simple, self-working stuff. I love magic for its entertainment capabilities; what better way to break the ice at a party, even provide some light-hearted entertainment after a dinner with friends?
I soon realised though that simple stuff gets boring after a while, so I started looking around online for better things. Books like The Royal Road to Card Magic by Frederick Braue and Jean Hugard, Expert at the Card Table by S.W.Erdnase (or whatever his real name is) and J. Bobo's Modern Coin Magic are all great which i would recommend to any beginner in magic.
I mostly perform card magic as it is visually stunning, especially when done close up. Apart from the basic coin sleights, my hands are too clumsy to handle coins for the more showy stuff. Have been regularly destroying packs and packs of bikes thru practice, it's becoming and expensive habit (worth it, though)! Oz Pearlman is a personal favourite. By watching him I realised how important the performance and fluency while performing a trick is.
I'm still a student, Form 5 this year, and have risked my bicycles being nearly confiscated more than once in school :P ! Anyway, I would appreciate any help from anyone willing to lend a hand. Thanks very much to all those whom I have been regularly pestering thru email for help!
