How many kind of musical instruments are there in the world?
Listing all is not possible.

They are of no importance too....at least not really to you now...
You should start with the basics 1st please...

a list of all the gaffed decks out there? woww...that'll be quite an endless list. There are so many efffects out there involving the whole deck

to answer your question, bicycle deck is a regular deck of card but the quality is better, and it lasts longer than a "rummy king" or "jaw".

Sukyi - May 21, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
bicycle is the normal deck that most magicians use here because the ones they sell in shops off the shelves are REALLY bad quality...

there are ALOT of different types of cards... if you're a collector, it'll end up like a stamp collection... different cards from different places all over the world... till the day you die, you still won't have all of them...

in different terminology... there's poker cards, bridge cards, etc... this is actually because all playing cards are designed for specific games... but this form of terminology only differenciates the cards according to the size of the cards... for instance, bridge cards are smaller than poker cards... quality of the cards will vary between brands...

Gimmick decks?
Well do some research on the net or go to Ning's shop or any online magic shop to find out. Anyway why u wanna know how many? Maybe u should ask wat kinda magic/effect u wanna do first and then search for that deck.

As for normal non gimmick/ non gaffed decks....
Wat determines a good deck from a bad deck?

IMO,
1) Stock of cards (whether is it AC, Linoid finish, Cambridge (got such thing?) finish, no finish)
2) Stiffness of the cards (some like it stiff and some like it softer for spring purposes)
3) Cut of the cards. Some cards are badly trimmed esp some local cards LOL. It must not feel like the cards are sharp/cutting into ya hands...

Again, IMO
Best stock of cards are WPT bess, Tally Ho, Bikes (leagues and riders).
Aladdins (looks v normal cards) but also I like. It has no 'stock'... just flat but the cut is pretty good and i like the stiffness.... the colours on the cards are bright and attractive as well...

Cheers,
Brendan

there are 53,294,094.023 (yes, .023) types of gimmick decks.

My favourite is the "Deck the Halls...." gimmick deck. Makes me wanna go "fa la la la la la la la"

Agree with Aloy you should start from basic.

If you really want to know,
Here are a 3 super common special deck.
1)Invisible Deck
2)Stripper Deck
3)Svengali Deck

Then Card we have few "special" one.

Bicycle deck "made in US" lor.
"Rummy King" or "Dai Di King' made in Malaysia lor.
The different?
Just imagine a Proton car and a BMW. :)

I agree the basics will open a big door for you.

Those 3 are best for starting out.

Stripper Deck amongst the other gimmicked decks is the best IMO...

U can do so many effects with it and looks like real magic... :)

Fahmi - December 9, 2007 09:16 AM (GMT)
I deck I love most is Stripper/Marked/One Way combo deck.

Oh one more thing, most decks, I've checked Bronco(?) Jaws, Bicycle, Tally Ho's, can be used as One Ways. I love it!

Cheers

Fahmi

As already said, the two best-rated gimmick decks are the Invisible Deck and the Stripper Deck (I just love Triumph tricks, baby). Recently I heard about a deck called Rama Deck by Owen Packard, many magicians have not heard of this deck though and last time I checked, the vendors that have this deck in their shelves are UK-based. Check out the review here:

http://www.magicweek.co.uk/magic_reviews/r...k_rama_deck.htm

I will definitely get my hands on this deck.
