Hi everyone, it has been a few months since I posted my video. This is one of my favorite card effects - TORN by Daniel Garcia. I was hanging out with my friends and did the effect for them (didn’t do well I believe) and I just wanted to share with you all. Comments are welcome! Have a nice day and take care everyone! ^_^

Credits to me for giving you that song then, huh. B)
lol, just messin' with you. ^_^
Really cool performance, but I think it would have given more impact if you showed the clip from the very beginning, e.i. from the moment they select a card. It would somewhat "diminish" the idea of a gimmicked card (even though none was used).
But yeah, keep it up buddy.

isaac - July 13, 2006 09:56 AM (GMT)
I think beside Daniel himself,
I haven't see anyone perform it better than you.
But, it will be much better if the "torning" part is in.
:)

Heheh I've always loved this trick. My first T&R, and the reaction has always been great! It's very nicely done there Jeff!

Again, I think the "torning" part is very important.
Overall is good and sweet :D
Sukyi - July 14, 2006 04:32 PM (GMT)
i think you mean "tearing" ?
thanks for the feedback :)
isaac - July 15, 2006 02:27 AM (GMT)
Like Daniel Garcia said : There is a diff between a torn and a tear.
Tear can recover back,
Torn You can't ... lameeeee :P
:D :D
So I use "torning". ^_^
Sukyi - July 15, 2006 03:52 AM (GMT)

Has anybody perform it infront of live audience. I just afraid to try it because i'm thinking that i'll be exposed it or blow it. Huhuhu
If anybody can give some tips, because it is quite angel sensitive...

If you think about it.. the angles are actually pretty good. For righties like myself, most of the time I have have my body turned to the left a few degrees, so that they can still see the card but have no chance of exposing. Also, do feel free to move and twist your body from side-to-side throughout the routine, to cover your angles if you feel like it. It appears a lot of today's magicians do not think about this- or if they do, they do not act upon it.
Edit: Here's something that may help you regarding anything that uses "dodgy angles". What you need, is a good friend and a lot of time. Simply ask him if he can help you out. Just perform what it is a few times to just him and ask him if he can see anything he should not. If he says no, then you know you're fine to perform! If he says yes, ask him what would look better. And hopefully he will point you to the right direction. Then, work on the routine a few days, and go back to him, and perform it to him in another situation. Ie, he may have seen it standing up, now try it sitting down. And before you know it, you have a routine that you will feel comfortable with infront of your audience. :)
It was not very well described, but that is personally what I do regarding a lot of "threatening" moves. :)
Good luck,
Jordan
