i dont know how he did it although I have suspicions.

damn nice style.

Oh jsut to add somethin, he posted his last vid sometime last month "Goodbye" sayin tat he has signed a contract with TV production company n so he won't be postin anymore clips like this on net..but apparently with just a relatively short period of existence he has gathered quite alot of fans..u can see lots of support there..
Hmm..another masked magician :D
A|bert - June 13, 2006 03:58 PM (GMT)
Wow...freaking AWESOME

cschee,
that is call back P**m :ph43r: :ph43r:
however he show himself clean with certain moves
-knida hard to explain without exposure-
anyway i think might be using the "black art" theory, video we cannot judge the distance from the wall to his hand.
the h****r card ..
erm instead of IT to our body .. may be is link with celing ?
Just a wild guess.
hope no exposure :)
yes do delete.

The mask is from the movie V for Vendetta. It's a very nice mask :)
Unless I'm very mistaken, this is just video editing guys. Interesting clip...but not really magic. B)

How can it be that a TV station signed him on?
More than 2 of his "effects" are actually just editing and camera tricks (cut editing and reverse editing).
and those that are real are interesting but nothing we haven't seen before? Pretty normal stuff?
The use of the V For Vendetta mask gives it all a nice touch no doubt, but there's no way he can wear that mask on TV coz it's an IP product.
It's quite interesting that he got so much support thou, because the stuff he does must have been done a gazillion times all over youtube and video depot.
So what's the special thing about this one? B)

Guy Fawkes mask. Yup from V for Vendetta hence Mad 'V'
And not really not magic, let's just say he mixes.... very nicely done.

Assume that sign him not because of his magic. He know how the effect be done using cam or editing.
The important is the way how is make himself famous.
Blaine first time on air and most effect you can get in magic shop what make him so popular?
hehe~, imagine if someone like William Hung [singer/american idol] come into magic industries.
Will someone like William Hung make himself famous in magical world?
or do you expect that?
[not refer to MadV, his is awesome].
Ignatius - June 14, 2006 07:22 PM (GMT)
Which means it's all about presentation (lol, I don't know how many times I have repeated this in a magic forum)! BTW, he attempted to fan in the goodbye video but fission mailed... WAHAHAHAHA........ even if not magician, an entertainer at most! xD

Isaac,
Regarding ur guesses on backp**m n IT, i seriously dun think it's tat simple. Look again n u'll find his moves are very clean.
Aloy,
Hmm i once suspected it's vid editing too..but we can't be 100% sure rite..maybe he's got some really good skill? :) I'm attracted by his card& sunglasses production, apparently IT-less hummer card & his reversal of bent spoon..i mean aren't these kinda fresh ideas? i think he's special in this sense..
N for the TV production, i'm sure he's not gonna wear the mask n do it..hehe..but when he's called MadV, ppl know him, dun they? :)
Jeuze,
It's me?? hmm..shhhee..hehe nola i wish i could do tat also.. :D
Aerox,
Ya i'm VERY surprised tat he couldn't do a fan..i laughed also..hehehe..
KenophLai - June 15, 2006 07:09 AM (GMT)
he's awesome
and the card production is not a simple back p**m, hehe.
the hook up for his hummer..mm... i dun think it's on ceiling
and some i guess is video edit. nevertheless, i like his presentation and he got the style ;)
Aloy - June 15, 2006 08:02 AM (GMT)
Wow...i'm really surprised by this guy's popularity and how highly his videos are regarded.
Considering that he is really not doing anything particularly new, and apparently he is not even very skilled (from the few "sleights" that he has attempted in the various vids).
Honestly, i think both darren and Lai are much more skilled than this guy by many times. No guys....SERIOUSLY, I'm pretty sure you guys are better skilled than this MadV. B)
His version of hummer card is not an original hookup for it. It is something that's definitely done before. It's just a crazy hook up that nobody in their right mind would use in real life that's all, but it has been done a few times on videos.
The unbending spoon and the card productions are both editing tricks, nothing uncertain about it. Again no skill required here.
The rest of his effects are really just so common nowadays and mostly IT work.
But the interesting thing here is, that this guy is geniunely popular on youtube!
What I am trying to figure out, what is his "unique selling point" here?
What is it about his performances and his image that struck a cord with the people?
Is it the mask? Is it the music?
Anyone has any thoughts about this? ^_^

First i think it's the masked identity. It is always an intriguing feature, isnt' it?
The music does play a part too..i actually quite like the music tat he used..hehe..esp the 'goodbye' one..
N finally of corz, the stuffs that he does that were deemed impossible. Ppl get amazed n to a level that, get influenced. Magic has got this unique property. Just like when blaine first started he also has got huge number of fanatics..n the believers even called it 'blaine-ism'
But anyhow..we'll see how it goes. Maybe we're really gonna see MadV on TV speical? then we'll judge again.. :)

Darren, Can it be
http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/magic.asp?id=11840Floating sun glasses.
maybe those card hide behind his head. wild guess. :D
It's pretty obvious if make a IT with a "T" shape to run across the whole arm. wild guess. :D
This Colour Change Flawless, I feel pretty obvious.
In here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tAzXwoToqkCannot figure out how it's change, comfirm no IT and no pull to do with change.
and the method is told by the author but I still not agree with that method.
