Lai,
Magic annexe is selling 1st grade bike at rm 15 per deck.

Err~, how to know 1st grade? and how you know normally we brought 2nd grade?
or 1st grade air-cushion finish?

Do USPC seperated those grade? or USPC come out with different standard?

Same production line will have different grade occur?

Or you talking about the imitation which 99.8% look like the original [so this is 1st grade]?

Please give some fact what the hell is 1st grade?

Jeff Gan - June 19, 2006 01:35 AM (GMT)
Jeuze,

Yup, USPC does grade them. There are 2 grades of Bicycle 808 Poker Cards.
There is your normal ones (the supposedly 1st grade), there is also a lower grade Bicycle poker sized deck marketed under Bicycle Seconds.

Its the last item on the menu below. Click on it and read the description :-

Of course the supposed 1st grade Bikes also have lousy QC, so the seconds may be better than 1st grade after all.

I've seen really really serious off centre Bicycles (1st Grade) that are part of James Tong's collection. Wish I had them for my collection.

Now you know what the hell is the difference. yeah?

So Jeff Gan what you mean is

Bicycle Card [Is this the 1st Grade]
user posted image
Bicycle cards are the choice of most magicians as many gimmicks in packet tricks are made in this design.

Bicycle Second [Is this the 2nd Grade]
user posted image
Bicycle Seconds are the USPCC factory seconds. This means that the cards may have minor printing defects (i.e., the cards may be printed slightly off-centre), however, in our experience most of the decks are more than usable and if not are perfect for practicing.

or versa-vise?

QC sound like same and different is the defects is minor printing, doesn't they?
Is Bicycle Card is "One Way Back" does that mean printed slightly off-center?
Or should advice when praticing using Bicycle Second, when performing using Bicycle card?

Jeff Gan - June 19, 2006 06:52 AM (GMT)
yeah.

I know they are one way backs, but some are waaaaay off centre.
Probably the 1st Grade consistancy is better than Bike Seconds.
And I do think its more economical to practice using Seconds, than the regular ones. Most of the time, there is no difference at all.

And the other thing, its not easy to find Seconds in Malaysia, as very few retailers carry it at all.

So serious off center means print accurate in center or out of center?
If print out of center, I have no idea why 1st grade is.
If accurate in center, I willing to buy 1st grade bike deck from Magic Annexe and compare what I buy in US.

Or just Bicycle Second just some defect print and not consider as 2nd grade?

I feel confusing.

Jeff Gan - June 19, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
i would assume Seconds means Second Grade ( becos of whatever reasons/defects/imperfections, I don't know, I don't work for USPCC)

Of course, that is my assumption only.

Why else call it Seconds? And why would be cheaper?

isaac - June 19, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
I got one deck of second
I bring it out with the good normal 1st grade bike and compare for 1hour *i am serious*

I manage to find out ...
There is no different.
And compare to some other 1st grade -those cacat one-
Bike second is much better.

I also not working for USPCC .. so yeah. :)

JEUZE - June 19, 2006 02:46 PM (GMT)
As I know,
On a production line, running mess production on 10,000 unit.
There will be some which is defect [5% ~10%] or not passing the QC.

If just wipe-off [throw away] of these defect may waste and make the cost higher.

Some factory may sell those defect out as long as the market accept [minor problem, similar why display unit are cheaper]. Mostly use other name then the original.

Hence, I just want to know why suddenly there are different grade on bike deck.

Correct me if I getting incorrect information.

MagicNewbie - June 21, 2006 10:58 AM (GMT)
I got most of my decks from Magic Club in Summit USJ. Normal decks at RM16. But what I like most is the range of decks they have, from normal to ghost, viper, black tiger, and even gaff cards are available.

Now I can't wait for the invisible deck to arrive.......

Cheers!!

But I hear that these green decks are no more in production. Im not sure true or not. I was told to hold on to mine because of these reasons. I bought mine quite sometime ago (over 6months), sold some away and kept a few with me. haha havent even open them... well... they are for collection purpose :P.

But yeah, do get it... its nice. Nice green colour.

Can someone confirm if they are selling these at MR? if yes, how much.

Cheers,
Brendan

Anyone tested the NEW MASTERS deck? If any of you have used them before, we would appreciate some reviews.

For those of you who wanna get it locally, Ive been informed that MR sells them RM30.

DesiWN - November 10, 2006 04:56 AM (GMT)
Hi there, i just got a Master deck from MR, i must say IMO that its the best cards i have ever handled, its much better comparing to the regular bikes, as it feels so much firmer & solid, also its smoother too, i'm not saying the regular bike other types of bicycle are not good, they're still my fav, no doubt the master deck cards are slightly thicker but hey i have no prob with it as it will last longer than regulars, if you guys have a chance, check em out, too bad its just much more expensive.

Oh yeah one more thing the one i got included a ghost ace of spades card, dont know if its standard
