ChongWei - April 25, 2005 06:30 AM (GMT)
lastt ime they selling BTD at 50 if not mistaken..
tally ho circle back.. 20 bucks.. just got myself 2 last saturday.. also a zag shape card for 10 bucks..

btw, Borders in Time Sqaure, is selling "The Encyclopedia of Magic" at 19.90 ... nothing too advance... but worth the price.. 200+ pages... COLOURED.. its going fast... manage to get myself 1..

Brendan Low - April 25, 2005 06:58 AM (GMT)
what's the zag shape card? what that? any pic?

RM19.90 for a magic book of 200 pages coloured... is surely worth it.

Who is it by?

Kam - April 25, 2005 08:45 AM (GMT)
Magic Ring is okay... a bit overpriced, but I guess it's the best we got in Malaysia.

The chubby seller is so funny!

Hi Isaac,

:lol: - Thanks! I have been quite a long time never been to KL already. I wish I have the time to visit all the magic shop in KL. :)

Andy Magic, yeah, I bought a few items but the magic is more towards on beginners. Seldom can see they sell some card magic in 'advanced' type. ^_^

Yeah! I also same like you, always aim for original stuffs but sometimes need to clever to 'save' money and buy those stuffs. ^_^

Malaysia is not a country that really well-known of magic if compare to countries like Japan, US, UK, etc, when you try to perform on the street, sometimes the people will run away. If other countries like US or UK, when you perform for the streets or public, they will like you to entertain them. It seems that the local has some FEARFUL kind of this magic art. I experienced this in my hometown here (Melaka). I think our local still do not have the idea about the art of Magic.

They seem like scare I CHEAT their money if I hold a deck of cards in my hand, but this is NOT TRUE, I just want to entertain them, that's all. But, I can't blame them as nowadays, there are many conmen outside and people tend to be careful nowadays. :(

I think it's hard and difficult to have a magic shop like Magic Pro shop, Magictricks.co.uk, etc in Malaysia.

Because firstly, the original stuffs already KILL you. ONLY with those SERIOUS magician or enthusiats, hobbiyists or really SERIOUS magicians (like me :P ) will not mind of purchasing all these exspensive stuffs, because it just like you have to purchase it, otherwise you will REGRET kind of feelings in myself. ^_^ - Sometimes, it's proud to own these stuffs, you will get what I mean. ;)

Secondly, sometimes when the stuffs you keep it in quite sometime, the authors will come up something new compare to the previous effects' version which is more better and so on. It depends sometimes, it's quite difficult to predict sometimes. :(

I have no choice, always have to bear the high costs of shipping. But the satisfaction I get from the dealer is the shipping of the stuffs are SWIFT, just take about 4-5 days to reach to my hometown which order from US or UK. B)

If Malaysia has a magic shops, then I will purchase from them directly. ^_^

the dude at magic ring enjoys giving me electric shocks with his gag pens, mouse etc. :angry:

Andrew Loh - May 2, 2005 03:59 AM (GMT)
Hahaha.......... :lol: me also last time, I visited a shop at Mahkota Parade, the guy use the coca-cola can and the fire lighter to making fun and keep on shocking me with the device. Grrrr.......... I was offended at that time, but it was a prank
and joke only. ;)

But, I don't like the electric shocking sensation!

Andrew

isaac - May 2, 2005 04:06 AM (GMT)

Be happy, as the only good magic shop here (the Magic Ring) sells a deck of Bike for 20 Ringgit... AND THAT'S IT! Not selling the gaffed, mat, invisible...

I have been asking them to restock for a long time, and have gone back there many time since... but they still haven't :( I hope they could do it quickly! My CUPS disease is getting worse.. hahahah.

-isaac-

Ignatius - May 14, 2005 10:00 AM (GMT)
got back from SG:

Normally shops sell:
BIKE = S$4.5
TALLYHO = S$7

If you barter:
BIKE = S$4
TALLYHO = ?(I dint shop for them)

Got myself a dozen bikes.

1 Singapore Dollar = RM2.3, Do the math, SG still wins, even without barter.

Anyway, You can get bikes, Tally hos, Streamline, Caravan, Black tigers, Viper decks from Golden Landmark located in Beach Road in Singapore.
