Description: by Kevin Parker

Yeah , I'm back with another review of a Kevin Parker effect. Hehehe.
Before I start, I'd like to ask you guys a few questions, ok?

1. Do you own a PK Ring?
2. Do you own a P*ll (e.g. Raven)
3. Do you own "special" coins?
4. Do you own a magic glass table?

If you don't own these things, hey don't fret! and if you own these items, good for you but I hate to tell you this but... YOU DON'T NEED 'EM!!! Unbelievable? Believe it! Hahaha!

Again, its another home made video. Though for this effect, the explaination would have been better if the quality was better so you can clearly see how it is done but you'll get the idea. It teaches all you need to know. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to prepare for this effect.

Do you need a gimmick?
You only need one "smal"... well i wouldn't say gimmick but shall i say... "aid", to perform this effect. According to the email he sends after the purchase, if you provide a shipping address, he'll send you the little "aid" that you need. But it is readily available at magic shops and suppliers. Some of you may even already have it. Don't worry its not expensive ;)

Is it impromptu?
As impromptu as you want it to be. This is an anywhere anytime effect. Anywhere with a glass table that is :) Oh, and as long as you have the little "aid" that I was talking about with you handy.

Can this effect be performed with a signed coin?
YES! Yes you can perform this effect with a signed coin! There is a an alternate method to perform this effect with a signed coin. Not that its not amazaing enough without using a signed coin :)

What?! I can even use other objects to perform Descent?!"
Yea, you can use the method you learn on this video to perform Descent with other small objects! So you're not limited to just coins :)

Tell me about the angles.
Personally i feel that you need to be confident to pull this effect off and need to be weary of your angles. Its not one of those effects that are super-angly but requires practice just like any other effects. The more time you put in, the more amazing an effect would be right?

Should you buy it?
If you are looking for a coin thru table effect effect which doesnt require you to buy expensive gimmicks and which you can perform butt naked (if you want to prove a point! Hahaha!) Then this effect is for you!

Easy to prepare and perform!
HIGHLY VISUAL! You can even make the coin pass thru the table not under your hand but under your FINGER!

This is what is said on the website about the effect:

This is a visual coin-through-glass that does not require magnets, wires, strings, threads, special coins, or special tables. The magician borrows a coin, drops it in the middle of the table, and pushes it through, the coin visibly landing in his empty hand underneath the table. The coin can even be signed, and the coin, with signature on it, is clearly seen in the magician's hand after it falls through the table. With just your bare hands and a coin, you are achieving this.

Use any kind of coin
Different objects can be used; candy, paperclips, etc.
Easy to perform

Check out the video here.

I call it... A NO FRILLS COIN THRU TABLE!
Again, Kevin doesn't disappoint and delivers another great piece of magic. My hats off to Kevin for creating this wonderful effect!

EFFECT: Highly visual as all his effects are!
PREPARATION: What preparation?!
METHOD: No funny moves and straight to the penetration! (Don't get the wrong idea! LOL)
DIFFICULTY: My Grandma could do it! With a little practice of course!
COST: USD22.00 for the instant-download and USD29.95 for the DVD, a tad bit expensive then passing thru but THIS IS A COIN THRU TABLE MAN! Hell yeah its worth it!

You're most welcome. Glad to be able to shed some light on the product. Just my 2 cents worth. I always appreciate a good review so I thought I'd contribute back by writing some.

Its just weird that this thread gets lots of hits but the number of people who reply to it are so few. This is a discussion forum not an online magazine. Why don't they give any form of feedback or reply? Feedback is what keeps a reviewer writing more and more knowing that they're doing something that is appreciated by others.

No wonder good reviews are so few here. Nobody bothers. The readers nor the reviewers.

To those who do take the time to reply, criticise and give words of encouragement, I thank you. If you guys keep reading them and giving your thoughts on the review, I will keep writing them. I will try my best.

I curious about the angle. How sensitive can it get?

Like, if the audiences is at ur 2 side, do you think it will be revealed?

Shukri J - July 16, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
You need to have your spectators infront of you. Its much safer. You can have a crowd of them infront of you no problem. Sides are kinda risky :)

LarryDK - July 17, 2006 05:39 AM (GMT)
Let say, they are at ur clock direction of 9 to 12 or 12 to 3 will be the safest anglest?

Anything i wan to find out is, i wear rings and bracelace on me, will it hinder the "aid"?

Shukri J - July 18, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
Not at all Larry. They won't be a hindrance at all. You can even wear gloves if you want to! Hahaha! Regarding your query about the angles, I'd say safe angles that I have used is 10 - 2 o' clock. Haven't tried the angles that you mentioned but I feel its quite risky and may cause exposure of the effect.

Hope this helps. Cheers

Yap, i will certainly take note. Dun wish to get a product that in the end, i have to worry that much.

Let say, if ur misdirection is good to audience to focus on the coin, it could be done surrounded. :)
