Sick and tired of having no real life audience to perform to?

Bored of sitting in front of ya computer webcam, or practicing in front of the mirror?

Well... Ive got good news for you.

Why dont you use the skills and talent that u have learnt and acquire to perform in front of an audience?

My uncle is organising a fund raising on NOV 18th 06.

Purpose: For Agape Counselling and also for the Melaka Christian Ladies Fellowship(single mothers and elderly care ministries).

They are planning a casual picnic / BBq for families esp donors, providing some entertainment for the kids.

He thought perhaps I could get some magicians to help out. It's only for about 3 hours at the community hall in Bukit Beruang.

Will give u more details later.

Probably need about 3-5 magicians to entertain the kids and adults. If one wanna do a lil stage/parlour act also can. Mainly, walk around would be good too.

Any suggestions?

This is a volunteer job. No pay. Perhaps only can cover transportation cost.

Anyone keen? Good chance for you guys to come down melaka anyway.. lol.

But I dunno about mentalism with kids though...

Jeremy, the time is 10am to 3pm. You should come bro. I'd like to meet and chat with you :)

Transportation costs will be reimbursed. Best to come in a group. If there are real difficulties in transportation, we have to get some driver to drive up to KL to pick u guys up to Melaka and then send you back. hehe... i think best if you guys can come as a group.

- Elvis and MJ not coming.... :(. So yeah.. depends on us magicians!!!
- There will be 2 clowns.
- DJ (no heavy metal stuff, crazy stuff la)
- There will be a hall and an open space. There will be a stage if any of u wanna do a show on stage.
- There'll probably be some singing on stage.

Donation is via sale of coupons etc
Carnival setting. Marque (tent) set up. Food stalls around kinda like a market style, Bookstores, jumbo sale, pony rides (3 ponys lol).

More news should come soon. This is a really good opportunity guys. Remember... this is nothin formal. It casual and its basically to have a fun day!

I have spoken to one of the organisers of the event and they have agreed to give the magicians a tent.

The tent is most likely to be:
- 10 x 10m
- Fit abt 20 seats
- A rectangular table is provided. (We probably need to bring a portable table, as a side table)

What we Magicians have to do:
- to perform walk around magic and entertain people
- At 3 occasions perform in the tent.
The tent maybe hot though... might have to bring a portable fan. Perhaps each show/occasion should last abt 30-40 mins max. I beleive there'll be at least 3 magicians that will perform at each occasion.

Man... last nite, practice my cards until so late 3am. Will practice again tonite but I really need a good sleep man.

The Carnival Leaflet

got back last night from Malacca...tired but happy. Stayed over in Malacca and did the tourist thing before coming back.

I'm not totally satisfied with my parlour act. I guess it means time to fine tune it a bit.
And I had to drop some items from my routine to suit the crowd..but I expected this.

But overall, I had a lot of fun and really had fun interacting with the crowd.
I had some really strong reactions from the volunteers during the impromptu jam after the shows. And got a few fresh presentational ideas from the crowd interaction as well.

It is good to know that there was an actual fund raising charity gig that the organisers took the trouble to be helpful to the magicians who offered to help. ^_^ Communication and consideration!! Really nice to know!
