Title: Presentation...
Yen Loong - July 28, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
Hi,
Hi everyone in MMF, i just joined MMF last week, kinda new here, so hope can learn from all of you.... ^_^
As we know, presentation is one of the most important elemant in magic, and with it, even the most simplest trick also can be a powerfull and yet magical trick.
I still remember before i purchased the Kard Klub from E, my 2CM was terrible, i get the method of 2CM by watchin DB do it over and over, plus google around.
When i first performed it on 2003, the reaction from my friends was just 'uh'? nothin much on it. BUt back in 2005, after gettin KK from E, i improve my presentation, put a story line in it and perfomed to my same friends, and BANG, they all flip out.....
So after that, i learned about Mindbender, as we know, in that dvd, brad and justin keep on told us about the word presentation. And i try a couple of experiment on it. One is with the story line presentation and all about concentration, and the other is just show them the card and make the card bend. And you know, the better presentation, the better reaction you will get....
So my advice is, when you learn a new trick, try to put some effort in the presentation, you are not learning the trick, you are learnin a wonderfull yet full with magical art....
Nice day...
yl4dt....

Absolutely... after I got Kard Klub my reactions actually tripled ! I would now present my material spending more time concentrating on "changing" the cards instead of just turning it over and saying "nah the cards have changed oredi"
Good post keep it up

man a 15 minutes card routine will bore me to death. Unless you're as hilarious like Gregory wilson or the guy at askaninja.com.
as for card effect, if you can perform just one routine with proper presentation, it's best if you just end there IMHO. :) If you proceed to perform like 3~4 routines with a "story line" type of patter... some of your spectators might just doze off. :D
Of course presentation is very important, but dun present yourself like another Brad Christian just because you learned form E. Hope to meet you soon and take care. :)

I'm from KL/JB/SG
Get gregory mwilson's pyrotechnic pasteboard of the most hardcore presentation.
BTW present your effects in your own personality just get their onliners and jokes.
