Description: Smart and Neat Flourish Video
Brendan Low - September 13, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
Good day All,
How's it going guys! Its been a long while since I last posted a video in this forum. Lately, I've been pretty busy and practicing alot on my card flourishes, especially been working on some of my own moves. In fact this video showcases quite a number of my moves which has never been publically shown before.
Big thanks to my buddeh Jordan Lapping for editing this wonderful video for me called Thriller. He has been a great pal and friend to me. Thanks for all the encouragement and support bro. You're an inspiration!
OK...guys... I think you gonna enjoy this video. :)
Sit back, relax, on ya speaker volumes and get ready to be THRILLED! :!!:

Brendan, thanks for the kind words, I was happy to help out. :)
Now for the video, damn nice! Loved the moves man, good work. :)
Oh, and another thing I noticed - that editing in the video was fucking sweet! :o
ROFL  :P
Jordan. :)
Forrest Lim - September 13, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
Even though I know very little about card flourishes. But the video is just awesome. Well-editing and all the moves are done very smoothly. Frankly, I can do none of the moves in the video.
Oh yeah dude, I like your tie. hehe
KenophLai - September 13, 2006 03:53 PM (GMT)
GREAT video, Brendan you looked damn pro in the vid... :)
JEUZE - September 13, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
Need to prepare a honest comments.
Coming back.
Jarrett Goh - September 14, 2006 05:58 AM (GMT)
Thriller! I love that song! That's obvious anyway since I am a Michael Jackson freak. Anyway, it's so good I got nothing to complaint, I love the editing, best I've ever seen, simple and stylish, I hate it when people edit too much, it really spoils the nature of the video.
There is so much improvement in this video, the flourishes made my jaw drop, I've never seen many of those flourishes ever, and to be honest, I find them EXTREMELY creative and stylish. Plus with the Thriller song, I have to say it simply have to be one of the best flourish video I've seen, very smooth, and very good video quality. Everything is all so good! Even your "business" jacket/coat.   I envy it. Good job mate, and keep it up!
~Michael Jackson fan
Brendan Low - September 14, 2006 09:44 AM (GMT)
haha... I was waiting for you to comment Jarrett, coz I knew you'd love the song coz its MJ's. Thanks for the compliments on the creativity of the flourishes. B)
Just wondering, are there any particular cuts you guys really like in this vid? Any particular favourites? ;)
I agree the editing was just awesome. Nothin too complicated. Mr Lapping has surely done a wonderful job and I'm glad you guys noticed it :).
Thanks for the comments guys. Really appreciate it!
Keep them coming :)
Cheers!
Brendan
Amane - September 14, 2006 12:32 PM (GMT)
Did you actually name any of the cuts?
you should put out some teaching vids.
interested in learning some of em'
Jarrett Goh - September 14, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
Brendan, there is a guy/member in www.magicvideodepot.com who produces(I think) DVD's, I might be able to contact him as he is very active in the website, I have a friend who is going to produce his own DVD under that guy(Who produces DVD's). If you're interested, I don't mind contacting that guy for you.

Hey Amane,
Yeah I have and will have names for my cuts. Some are YTBN (yet to be named). :P
Regarding tutorials?.... well... we'll just have to wait and see...
Meanwhile stay tuned! :)
Jarret.... producing a DVD eh? erm... i only have like 4 or so moves that I can call mine. I need like at least 10 or so moves before I can think of doing a DVD. hehe... I doubt I have the time. But surely I'll be doing tutorial... whether to release to public or selectively... its yet to be confirmed.
hint hint.... one will come your way next month :)
Jennifer - September 15, 2006 02:38 AM (GMT)
Hey Brendan! Saw the video! The music really suited what you did! Wow, you make flourishers look so easy! (it's so not actually). Am envious.... anyway, congrats to you and ur friends on doing a great job. Yea, hoping to catch another video from you soon!
Nadzri - September 15, 2006 02:31 PM (GMT)
Flippin Ay Brendan!!!!!video was great haha i would understand if you were in a tshirt n jeans, but with a business coat and all, adds a whole new plain of difficulty hahaha :P anyways video was awesome, really fitted in with the music...
Only one word could sum it up "SUPER SMOOTH"........wait thats two words....
Brendan Low - September 15, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Thank you v much Jennifer and Nadzri for ya comments :). Yes... i love the music and the feel of the vid too :P. Yups it wasnt v comfortable wearing a suit to flourish.. but glad it turned out looking GREAT. B)
For Jennifer, flourishing is always not going to be easy at the beginning, but once u put hard work and effort to practice.. it will pay off. It had taken me 2 years in flourishing to get to where i am today. Learning new flourishes is much easier now compared to when I first started.
Once u can get a cut down... that achievement will get u going for more advance cuts and it keeps going.... and soon u'll be creative enough to create ya own cuts. Will teach u a couple of basic flourishes when we meet on the 21st Oct.
Cheers,
Brendan
szehowe - September 16, 2006 06:39 AM (GMT)
brendan ur flourishes v smooth and fast  ...i wonder when oni can i reach ur standard><?any beginner dvd flourish can u recommend?i am willing to spend time and practice but got no direction ;)
Lapping - September 16, 2006 10:07 AM (GMT)
Szehowe, I highly reccomend beginning where it's best - The Dan and Dave System. It can be bought at www.dananddave.com
Good luck with the flourishing world. :)
- Lapping.

haha Jeff... WTH man? at first JEUZE and now u? <_< hehe jk :P.
Sukyi... nice feedback there. ;) LOL. THanks B)
Nadzri - September 17, 2006 02:30 PM (GMT)
I dont know lapping....the system is kinda hard for a beginner flourisher....took me a few weeks just to get Genesis down...and thats like the most simplest cut in the whole video....plus i got the download, so less angles, less speed selctions, and less bonus items :(
But all in all, the moves are great!!!i could jus sit and watch rather than learn most da time haha
Brendan Low - September 18, 2006 02:25 AM (GMT)
1-2 weeks of flourishing wont get you anywhere with no basics. It took me quite a long time to learn as well last time. But I wasnt realy into it that much at that time.
Btw, I feel that SYSTEM was designed for merely those who already have the basics. Most beginners find it hard to learn from system. But not all.
If u really talking abt basic vids... then Tudor Showoff vids are the best or perhaps Cap Cuts which go thru on sybilings. If u want... u can go search for the Showoff vids somewhere. It was a video but sold anymore though.
But hey... Jordan only had System to work with at the beginning and look at him today... he is like one of the best flourishers in the world. All Im saying is if u have the heart to practice for hours... im talking at least 2-4 hours (normally its 4-6 hours (that's lapping style).... it can be addictive u know :P) perday on flourishes then you will get these moves down. Most cuts take me abt a week or so to get down smooth and well.
It is just to early to judge and to learn. There's a lot to learn abt your hands and capability, not just what the cuts look like.
I'd say.. stick with it. You'll get there soon :). All the best. If problems persist... then we should meet coming Oct 21st. No worries.
CHeers,
Brendan
Lapping - September 18, 2006 10:08 AM (GMT)
lol Thanks Brendan :P
But honestly, on an average, I practice for about 11 - 13 hours a day in total. Whether it's just holding the cards or actually practicing, it's about that long per day. Which equals out to about...
Between:
11 hours a day/77 hours a week/308 hours a month/3696 hours a year
and
13 hours a day/91 hours a week/364 hours a month /4368 hours a year
Roughly...
- Lapping.
Brendan Low - September 18, 2006 10:23 AM (GMT)
haha.. yeah... guys like Jordan... he just sits around and flourish all day...
Below is a summary of his life:
Wake up....
Do a few flourish and card magic routines
Go to school
Back for lunch.. eat and flourish....
Go back to school...
Come back... flourish till dinner time... and flourish again.... isnt that rite Jordan? :)
Well, below is mine on an average working day(i have less time but I make use of my nite times):
Wake up.... just in time for work... so v rush.. no time to hold cards... but lately practice one magic before heading downstairs for breakfast.
Go to work... go to forums.. :P and contribute...
Go back home...
Flourish... and or card magic and msn... all the way till 12am/1am, unless Im going out for some occasion with friends etc. Even that... come back home.. its back to the cards..
So yeah.... mine is abt 4-5 hours daily... approximately...
I guess... once you pop (start), u cant stop!
Jeff - September 18, 2006 10:43 AM (GMT)
i wish i have that much time... :( i can hardly touch magic for more than 1 hour perday.. :(
Jeff - September 18, 2006 11:37 AM (GMT)
Ok... the things I love most about this video is no SYBIL! And mostly ORIGINAL cuts! I can never create one... :(
And the video quality is nice. I like the overall feeling with black background and suit but the song is kinda weird with this video... I mean it is agreat song (who doesn’t think it is, he/she is s*****) but it sounds weird when I watch the video... ha-ha... maybe just me. The editing is great too... I love it!
Once again, I can’t comment much on the moves as they are all yours! Great job! Best from you so far! Keep it up Brendan! :!!:
Brendan Low - September 18, 2006 11:44 AM (GMT)
Hey... yay... u finally commented :).
Erm... not all mine.... :P
Cuts that aint mine:
Werm (not sure abt the transition to it though...i kinda combined M360 and flow it to werm... its been done before i guess) - D&D Buck
Molecule 360 - Myles Nazuki
Molecule production - D&D Buck.
Anaconda (long dribble) - Bone Ho
One combo... I used my BLOW cut and combined with Crabshak. - Thus, its just a combo original to me.. ;) .
The rest are mine... :).
Cheers for the comments! :D
Andrew Ang - September 18, 2006 12:22 PM (GMT)
danng man! loved ur fan/springs ^^ cool vid there
-Cheers
Brendan Low - September 20, 2006 04:15 AM (GMT)
As mentioned on MSN Andrew, its not a spring.
It is a dribble.. a long one... and it is called Anaconda. Created by Bone Ho (one of the underground legends in XCM/Flourishing).
Jeremy Soon - September 21, 2006 08:58 AM (GMT)
Very well done Brendan, especially with the coat and tie, you look like a professional flourisher. :)
Brendan Low - September 23, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
TQ Jeremy.
I hear that some of you have troubles viewing from youtube.com as the vid doesnt load finish or stops half way. I have that troubles to with some vids on youtube.
Anyway, I've just reloaded the vid in yousendit.com again as the previous link is dead (deleted it already).
Here is the new link (updated the link in my first post). You can download the vid from here if you want.

Thriller song is good, performer even better. Praises for nice performace and coat. Face should be praised as well, well indeed it would be better praised by girls not me.
Darren - October 4, 2006 02:39 AM (GMT)
Sorry to praise late bren..*instead of comment hehe*..arrrhh as usual la..superb quality flourish vid..but this time with a new image..cool! Hmm talkin bout hours spent on cards..i kinda hav same feeling too..we're all addicted to cards!! There's some sense of uneasiness when there's no a deck of card around..sigh isit good or bad..haha :D
Brendan Low - October 4, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the comment Darren.
We're all coming back to the addiction again i think... lol...
Cards will always be my passion for life....
A day without cards... is like a month without cards! :(
haha :D
Daniel Yeong - October 5, 2006 05:06 AM (GMT)
Wow said like cards is treated as your life partner or has it already become your life partner? hehe.
Brendan Low - October 5, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
haha cards... to me...they are like a teenager's obsession to gaming or playstation.
I dont have playstation... so i spent most with me cards.
Im single... so cards' are my partner for now haha..
Sukyi - October 5, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
haha... i like that, brendan...
can i use that to reject guys? "i'm single, but i got cards as my partner... so i don't need YOU"... :P that actually sounds quite sad... lol
Brendan Low - October 6, 2006 08:24 AM (GMT)
haha... it's a sad excuse... :P
It would be darn cool if both you and ya partner love playing with cards... similar interests :)
At least he/she wont think you are not spending enough time with him/her. haha... ;)

And you love to fiddle and play with with your partner.
Jordan. :P
Brendan Low - October 6, 2006 06:03 PM (GMT)
haha yeah... who doesnt?
I treat my partner well... with care and gentleness... infact making
"her" more attractive with my pair of hands. LOL
However, at times... I do accidently make mistakes and drop "her" on the floor here and there... but yet... so faithful to pick "her" up again. haha.
Im loyal to "her"... until she's old and worn out.... and then tt will be time for TORN... but hey.... im still nice enough to restore "her" back. haha.
Oh gosh... i dunno wat i talking haha... zzzz time dudes!
Cheers,
Brendan
