Title: Herbert
Description: A Cool Card Effect Performed by Lapping
Lapping - September 14, 2006 04:00 PM (GMT)
Howdy folks, long time since I last posted a video, so this is why this post is here! :)
The effect I am performing is titled "
Herbert" and I have no idea who the original creator was, as this method/handling was shown to me and my buddies by Denis Behr at FISM. :)
Click
here if you wish to download the video to your hard drive.
P.S. The reason for the blank deck has nothing to do with the effect, it was purely so the rubber band could be seen. As for the effect, it's completely impromptu.
So, I hope you like the quick effect and comments are welcome. :)

Jordan Lapping.. that was short and cool effect man! Love it when the rubberband just dissappears in a snap.... it just melts away :P.
Love the idea a lot. It would surely be a good trick to do... :)
Love how u use the blank back deck to do this performance.
Its all good man.. all good.. very well performed and nice soothing music... :)
Cheers,
Brendan

really awesome performance man
Sebastian - November 2, 2006 01:38 PM (GMT)
this is a part of paul harris's routine called stretch, where he combines three different rubberband and deck tricks into the routine and this part, the trick you performed is called 'inner circle'....but still, awesome performance man

Self-Edited: Yeah, I've recently been told about this, yet the handling isn't the same as the one in the video, they're quite different. :)
The one in the video is a routine titled "Total A-Band-A-Ment" by Bernard Bilis.
Once again, thanks for the comments people. :)

Eric Liew - November 14, 2006 02:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it looked similar to the Paul Harris effect
Is there a difference in effect to Bernard Bilis' version? or just difference in handling?
Anyway, good stuff Lapping! :)
How did you meet up with Denis Behr?? By chance or pre-arranged??
Lapping - November 14, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
Hey Eric Liew, it's purely a handling-difference that differs this variation from the original. As for where/how I met Denis, it was through the FISM convention, by chance. :)
It was funny, he asked us to mearly name any card, and he went directly into the routine, meaning no cards were selected - just thought of and named. He flawed us all. Funny enough, he told us he used marked cards and proceeded with the routine.
Pretty humerous if you ask me. Clever though. :)

How was FISM 2006 by the way?
I've got a friend who went there and he mentioned that there were some good acts, but there were some really bad ones as well
Lapping - November 15, 2006 11:33 AM (GMT)
Summed up in one word, the convention was: BADASS!
Literally the best place I've been too, it was damn cool man. I think the main reason why I went was also to session with some of the guys there, it was really cool though.
Yeah, some of the acts were superb and startling, whilst others just sucked.
I have to say though, the winning Close-Up Act rocked the c*ck! Damn, never seen something so interesting, fooling too.
