Hi folks,

If you folks perform the old version of Street Magic 'Ashes' effect, I found 2 sources which I think it's worth to check it out.

The first one can be found in Marc Lemezma 'Mind Magic' book on page 46 - 49. As his version is on the bizzare field. As I think the presentation of the misdirection is very effective.

Another version can be found in Peter Duffie's book 'Open Secrets' on page 6 - 7 under the effect namely 'Dustinct'. Peter has an excellent methods of decreasing the risks of the spectator discovery when you touch their hand with ash under your finger. On top of that, Peter also provides excellent presentation and patter as well.

how bout the one where the name of the card mysteriously appears on the magicians body? i love that one.

u guys watched an episode of malaysian comedy "aha"

afdlin shauki did that routine "think of a number" and the number appear on his body.

after that he scratch himself and got numbers all over different parts of his body. hilarious...

Haha......... Yeah! The 'Aha' show is really halarious but sadly now there are no further of this programme anymore. :(

u know the trick where u ask the spec select/think of a card and then write it on a piece of paper and then light it up... and then u take it and rub on ya lower arm?

man... we were just supoose to rub ashes on it but i tot it would be much cooler if i just dap and vigorously rub on my card while the paper was still on fire.. lol... i guess u can imagine wat happened..

i was like ouch ouch sh*t ouch **** blah blah blah.. man... it was suppose to be acting but man i tell u this is NOT acting. everyone was like WTH u doing man???

Even though the 2 of diamonds faintly appeared on my arm which was kinda successfull.... but i tell u i had to live with a scar for a week.. hehe.. fire burnt my arm.. lol... but oh well.. i guess it was worth it.

in future, im gonna do it the proper way lol... ;)

Yeah! I have added some touches on this effect. ^_^

Before the show, I show my hand or whole arm is empty, after that follow the effects and at the end, just some rub visibly the words appear on my arm.

Very simple, isn't it?? :P

I pity you...next time dont be so macho....I like the way you wrote ouch,ouch,ouch,and all....I couldn't stop laughing....sry I'm too evil lol muahahahahahaha....next time dont be Blaine....he laos must be ouching too lol....but I like doing this effect in dark places or went camping or sometimes in a party or bar as long as the place but kinda dark....then when everybody is quiet I will make patters about the other world and spirits coming to give me a sense,etc....then I'll do it and everybody will freak out so Brendan....pls....do try to be macho again so I can laugh throough the night MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!jk

I just had experience like you Brendan...except a lil different I recently done carbon paper from Jay Sankeys Volume.1 and the way Jay Sankey burn the back of the card looks like nothing but when I done it to my pet brother...just what....something like urs....ouch,ouch,ouch, and he was like are you ok?My hand was too close to the part I burned the card....but mines got no choice unlikeyour "burned effect" lol....who cares....carbon paper is great....hehe....
