Title: Some Mental Magic

Andrew Loh - March 30, 2005 07:21 AM (GMT)
Hi folks,

Have you seen somebody or you perform the effect such as request the specator to think of a number and then double that number, divide that number and blah....blah...... (I think you know this effect, right?)

However, I found an effect in Bob Longe's book 'Easy Magic Tricks', on page 62 under the effect 'Look ma, no cards' should be interesting.

Bob added some touches into this effect and created another unique way of revealing the thoughts of the spectator. :)

Let me know what do you think folks, thanks!

Best,
Andrew

Speaking about Max Mavern, his hardcopy book "PRISM" has several solid mentalism pieces in it too!

Entertaining and simple mentalism magic tricks...not to say super strong effects, but simple and fun ones

theres another simple mentalism effect that i do, although it requires an accomplice. we cal it "black magic" and it goe something like this.

a spectator whispers the name of an object to the accomplice. the accomplice then starts naming objects around the room, in which the magician says "no" to all the subjects until the accomplice gets to the spectators object, where the magician says "yes!"

this is mind boggling and does not require any hand/eye signals. this is what people have said to me in the past :

"it was the last one!" (duh, of course it was the last one. what's the point of carrying on when the trick's already done?)

"you counted to a certain number" (then i do it again, this time making it faster)

"it was the tone of your voice" (i don really know what to say to this, but NO it's not the tone of my voice)

hehehe. this makes a great camping game. :P
