The meet up yesterday was GREAT~ I've met lot's of new faces, and finally got a chance to meet up with old buddies since the June 3rd gathering.

A big thank you to MTR, providing us a proper meeting place and organise the meeting for us. Good job Eric and Robbin ;)

About 15hrs of not stop jamming session for Eric, Brendon and me. Eric was learning molecules cut at 5 am. I can see he's really passionate about Chemistry.

It's really nice to see MMF members get up on stage and perform, overall i enjoyed the magic very much, thanks guys and hope to meet up with you guys soon.:)

Hmm all writing short reviews? not like the traditional way MMFers were doing..hehe..u started it first Kam! :lol: :lol: Thought the first-timers would be quite excited bout it :)

I personally think that this gathering was the best so far..largely due to the venue this time and i think we've made a darn right decision. Can't think of any place better than this to let us feel so free to perform. I had a really good time. And i pretty much like the way it was held this time..started with individual performances..then small groups jamming. Kinda more organized and we get to know each other better. Sebastian (name correct?) was joining the table of Kam & I..he's good! calm & cool..and quite funny too :D

I left quite late at bout 8 but there's still a table of diehard members jamming there. I actually wish i could join them but was quite tired dy. Really look forward to the next gathering! You ppl are great! :)

i came late that day, bout 45 minutes late and just only saw some people doing individual performces (and i found a gay ppl among us)(hahah dun get angry cause i did not type your name here, just kidding)

after that i joined brendan table , get learn some Flourishes ,it look cool man.
brendan is a nice guy.. he willing to answer our question. After that ,we started to jam magic, we ex-change our magic and i gonna thank szehowe
for the re-set . During that jaming time, Robin came over our table and talk bout ""misdirection"" bout how to "control" some people and bout the theory for look natural when performing.

bout 8pm , we planing to go 4 movie and what happend is Eric din buy the ticket. It sound sad right? but not , because of that we have a chance to jam with Robin and i really like the way Robin perform and thank for the 3 cards magic (sorry i 4got the name) i really appereciate it .really ,really

after that brendan ,szehowe and i sure be when to "Yam Cha with eric and lai but we went to magic-i ..finally we also reach there and yam cha with them and also talk bout magic hahaha (sry ar guys need you all waiting) i back home bout 12 midnight . THANK szehowe for fetch me back home

ok here's my long review...
i had a early lunch with forrest and went to fetch alexander ang and sebastian from kl sentral..we reach on time at MTR..after that brendan intro himself to us then i basically sit in the same table with charlston,lai. lai's fren(i remember the face always keep smiling 1),alex,sebastian,forrest and forrest fren..asked charlston few question bout my fire wallet and so..after dat is performance on stage session...all performance was very well performed...robin presentation was good can see dat he is dam experienced..after the stage session we have learn the art of flourish session with brendan!always wanted to learn flourish..by then it is like the gathering is divided in smaller group..and different table was like talking different aspects of magic...and yeah get to ask loads of question and brendan really teach teach and teach..haha basically keep repeating and repeating...after learn the flourish session then our flourish group basicall form a circle and we took turns performing our magic included me,brendan,shonchong,alex,alvin and 1 more!shit i forget his name ><...that session was really fun...after that brendan went to the other table and robin came to our table..

robin shared with us his experienced performing to different kinda of audience and talk to us about misdirection and even simple tricks can have good effect if the way u present and ur body language oso very important...after that we have our photo session and some of the ppl gotta go back...i was actually thinking of going back straight after fetching alex and sebastian to ktm station but then yea thank god i changed my mind i went back to mtr and most of them are still there!after i reach back mtr i had brendan teach me flourish again :P ..then later around 7pm like dat the staff in mtr told us that we must move back from our table..eventually me,brendan shon chong and lai went outside...had our sharing session and chit chat..until robin came to our table to show some amazing card tricks some involve mentalism..and guess wat?he was good enuff to share with us a few of his tricks!after that eric joined our table by then we was like dam hungry already nvr eat lunch and dinner ><...then eric decided we go for yum char..eric and his gf fetched lai and i fetched brendan and shon chong..but then before that we hang out in magic-i for a while to buy some stuff..then went for our yum char session..yum char session also involve many magic which lai electrocuted me!after dat i had brendan share with me 1 of his very simple ace revelation ^_^ ..then at around 12am we have to part ways coz its late..i fetch shon chong home then reach back home myself :)

overall i feel this gathering really help me a lot in improving my magic in all aspects...thx all the mmf-ers to make this gathering a great one!

reached pyramid at about 12.....and i got lost!thank god i found the place around 12.30.was with the same table with jennifer,roy,alvin and ohdear my memories are deteiorating(i can't remmeber his name)

all the performance was supurb but i enjoyed lai's rope performance best. ^_^ ..like szehowe i joined brendan's table after the preformance.his florishes are plain WOW!=)

after a while it got a bit smokey and i got a call from jennifor to join her with jeremy soon in coffee bean.=)did some discussion on presentation till david and her gf came over to join us.=) he did some mind blowing mentalism magic.

went back to MTR after that and joined adlan kamil and all with their spoon bending.lai's pen electrocuted me.no,i dont like your pen anymore lai.

accompanied lai to the cinemas as he didn't know where it's located and i went back to MTR to join jennifer,jeff,adlan and kam. It was really nice to be able to see so many spoon and fork bending*kesian the spoon and fork though*

went into MTR and saw brendan doing flourishes. :D *the pretty-nesss* Brendan was nice enough to teach me the sybil cut. :D (i'll practice it,i promise!)

Im back safe and sound in Melaka. Thank God traffic was smooth flowing... left KL abt 4pm. Came back in time dinner and to watch the WTC movie 7.20pm show with my friends. haha.

OK here's my REVIEW :)

The gathering was definitely a fun one! I really enjoyed it man. Nice to meet up with Old members (Jeff Gan, Jackliw, Baalan, Kamil etc) and new members as well! :).

We had a time for performance too... and for those of you guys who went up to perform... well done man! Everyone did a great job there. Some of the highlights were Jeremy's Mini Tennis balls fooled everyone. Lai's Rope tricks.... (outstanding presentation and expression), Darren's Card Revelations.... (superb), Sebastian's Stigmata, Charlston cigarette manipulation, Roy's coin accros, Forest coin trick, Jeuze coin, David Lai's wonderful mentalism card effect with names written on each card, Robins crazy mentalism and spoon bending, Edwin card tricks... etc etc.... sorry if miss anyone's name, for those who performed. Give yaselves a big pat on the back! Welldone to all!

I had great fun spending with new members Szehowe, Shon Chong, Alexander and Alvin. I spent a lot of time with them... flourish....haha like a lecture... I talk until mouth so thirsty... You guys have learnt something... im sure you have :).

And then magic.... where we went around taking turns to perform our effects! It was really cool to see everyone giving support and cheering each other when performing. hehe... shon's production of his lil handphone reminded me of Jay Chow's handphone commercial. Pretty cool work with the sleeves bro. Szehowe... haah this guy... really fun to jam with. Funny and full of excitement. Thanks for teaching me the Reset man. I've been practicing that trick the whole nite.. till 5am (haha ask Lai/Eric....)

I also spent some time with Kamil and Eric for a while... showing each other some cool card tricks. I knock Kam out with a mentalism effect using cards and he replies me with a nice collector routine.... Bucks' rules eh :). And haha... Eric..... he made Kam and I ROFL-ing non stop when he told us to "pick a number between 2-4." Haha.... that was really really funny man. Kam just cant stop laughing. ROFL!

It was also great to see and chat with the gals, Yukiko and Jennifer. Didnt get to chat or session much with Jenn (kinda went missing for some time), but it was really cool that Yukiko kept wanting to see me doing more flourishes. Glad you enjoyed watching :). Do work on the sybil I taught you. U'll get there in no time :). I see much passion in you for magic/cards. Keep it up!

Robin showed us some mind boggling mentalism effect and some using cards! Yups as Shon has mentioned.. he spent some time with us that nite. Thanks Robin... I'll surely use and practice the effects you taught us :).

We went to Murni's for Dinner.... was.. v nice food there (my first time ahaha). Had a big jug of drink (with fruits inside)... so so massive.. and had the scramble...??? (got sausage in the roti wrap one). Super nice! Struggled to finish the drink though. We had some really cool time during dinner! Some nice discussion on presentation and sleights :).

More jam session at Eric's place... haha we surely had a bloopers time man.... laugh and laughed until wanna pengsan. by the time around 5am... our patters dont make sense.... and Lai... ehehe... he was super funny... u know.... his expression and patter all became so funny. And Eric and I just cant stop laughing abt the "between 2-4" joke. haha!

Looking forward to reading more reviews guys!

I arrived kinda late to the place with Jeff and Jack. And I saw that you guys have started performing, and throwing around the chances lol. It was cool. I laughed like a little kid seeing the whole Robin and David's joke HAHAHAH dude... I just have to know, DID YOU REALLY KISS THE GUY?!?! Your answer will make me sleep a little better tonight...

Met the MMF people of old and new. Shit the second I saw you guys, I knew something's been missing in my magic life: it's the fun of gathering and discussion and rambling and all that stuff. And to the new kids, it was fun knowing you guys (and girls). I really, really apologize if I didn't get to know all of you, and the fact that my memory didn't serve me well when it comes to names (this is due to the fact that I was VERY, VERY sleepy, as you could see from my sad face lol).

Now that's outta the way, I enjoyed seeing the magic and the atmosphere there. I couldn't say much about the free drinks cus I was fasting, but I'm sure it went well! My jam sessions were mostly with Darren (and sebastian and that guy who was good but I forgot the name :( ), Jeff, Jack, Lai, Balaan (this was mostly heart to heart lol), Brendan, and Eric. I could count how many effects I did on that day with one hand. I was doing mostly some new rendetion of jazz aces, some collectors, and some other stuff.

And then there was te "between 2-4" joke... god... Eric, you made my day.

After that I thought we were planning to watch a movie together, but due to some mix up and confussion, we didn't :\ Dang! David went ahead with his woman to see the movie. I was still with everybody at MTR, then one by one everyone "magically" disappeared and by then I was with Jeff, Jack, Balaan, Yukiko, Jennifer, and Jeremy outside. Then my friend and my woman came, then we all went off to get some food at Long John Silver's (yummmmm). Then all dispersed. I say too much then.

I ended watching the Grudge 2 with my woman. And it was horible, and boring, topped that with drowsiness, and you got a one hell of annoying experience. Went back at 11:30 and reached Cyberjaya by 12 something.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the gathering. I thought we could've done more (or I could've done more...), but let's save that for the next one! B)

Yeah I agree with Darren, this is the most successful MMF gathering which has been held so far. Not for the performance, of cause, since most of us quite unprepared at that time. But the atmosphere, dim light with comfortable seats which allowed us to had chance to talk to each other.

I didn’t have chance to get know all of the attendants, frankly. Because I was too obsessed by the charisma of Roy, Charlton and Kenneth. We’ve been sitting in a same table most of the time. And all the members have had been divided several kinds of groups unconsciously, namely, mentalism, flourish and manipulation.

If not mistakenly, we were the last group to left MTR at 9pm or so. I do hope the next gathering can be held in the end of this year again to give me more time to get know more MMF members. ^_^

Haha, okie now my turn of the review!!!

Met Yukiko in front oh MTR (actually we met in Magic-i, but i didn't know who she was and vice versa). We kinda hit it off right away, since we were the only 2 girls there! Sat down with alvin and started discussing experiences. The robin brought over his laptop to show us a presentation of his predictions! Then roy came over and soon, everyone started filing in MTR!

Basically, i still, 'wow' and 'oooooh' over everyone's tricks! It was good, i'm guessing everyone practiced hard over it? Haha, thank god there was another female member around! Yukiko, ur muscle pass was cool! I can't belive u got it down pat in 4 days! I like Lai's performance coz there's a side dish of comedy in it. It was cute! :wub:

And david lai kissing Edwin! *laughs* i had a front row seat view of it! Gonna give me nightmares for a while.... btw edwin, i feel ur pain. still it was a once in a lifetime thing huh? Lets hope it stays once in a lifetime!

Back at my table, watched roy doing some fancy card tricks. I loev the one where he slams the card down on the table, and it appears on the other side! Hehe..... Roy has a total knack for making things appear out from his mouth! He made his handphone appear from his mouth when exchanging no., cards from his mouth and my ring form his mouth! (i'm fumigating it as we speak.... kidding!)

Alvin was so nice he taught me 2 tricks! Thanks so much Alvin! I've been practicing it like crazy! And sorry guys, i had to disappear for a while, MTR was getting a lil hazy inside. Jeremy was nice enough to accompany me and we had a nice long chat about magic and all that jazz!

Overall, it was a very productive day! For those who couldn't make it, fear not! We'll be having gatherings every now and then..... right guys?? right???

P.s. sorry for not performing anything, my trick is seriously low impact in comparison to all of yours!! I promise i'll show something the next gathering okie? Scouts honour!

Those performer are good. Jeremy's Cup and Ball, Lai's rope routine, Robbin's spoon bending, Charlton's cigrette, David Lai's mentalism and so on [poor memories].

Brenden you knock me down with the trick you show me [The one you showed Kam]. It's a cool trick and I like it very much.

Hands down, the gathering was a truly GreaT experience :D

You guys rock! :)

I first met Eric at the reception table (cool and rilly friendly guy!) and then took my seat at a table. Soon, I was joined by Yukiko and Jennifer and we had a nice chat sharing our experiences (I was surprised that Yukiko told me that she was purely Malaysian Chinese despite her cool Japanese name, although she could speak some very authentic Japanese hehe – and Jennifer too could speak Jap!). Then Roy came and joined us at our table. (Thanks man for your tips on the EV color change)

Soon the tables were filled and the stage performances began. I don't have to say much here (the previous reviews have done a great job in describing the performances) but in short, it was cool mix of Cards, Coins, Mentalism, Metal-bending, Rope, Escapism, Cup and Balls, and Cigarette magic! (hope I didnt miss anything)

After that, we broke up into small groups for jamming. I joined Brendan, Szehowe, Shon, Alex, Yukiko and Cschee (hope I got your name rite man ^_^). Brendan shared with us his advise and experience with flourishes and taught us some cool cuts (sybill, revolution, Peter Ho's cut, etc) Thanks a lot man for your tips and advise, will practice what I've learned. :)

Then we took turns to perform and you guys were great! but aargh! I kept making mistakes -_- .. plus I was rilly nervous (even infront of our fellow performers) :wacko: sigh.. embarassing.. But thank you guys for your support and telling me to keep goin till I was done.

Then Robbin came to our table and shared with us his experience working in MTR and performing for the customers. He shared with us valuable advice on how to deal with difficult customers, how to misdirect (I cant thank him enough for this one as he showed us various ways to do it effectively, and how a simple trick, can transform into something truly magical in the eyes of the audience with the proper misdirection and showmanship) plus, he also shared with us tips on how to improve our fork bending. :)

Then we had our photo session and I had to leave, but I got to chat with Darren for a bit before leaving (Nice to see u after so long ^_^ tkcare and all the best in your work ahead man) As I stepped out of the restaurant I saw Jeff, Baalan, Jennifer and Yukiko sitted outside with other members and was requested to do some metal-bending. So then I did this incredibly-lame-turning-myself-around-fork-bend for them (I quote: Jeff: Why dont you add a dance number to it next tiime..?) LoL

All in all, it was a rilly great gathering and looking forward to seeing you all again in our future meets. ^_^ cheers!

Hi guys ERIC here ! nice meeting you guys in gathering we really having a good time on that day . Sorry for late reply cause i'm just back from peneng today since after the day of gathering , tired !

The gathering was happy , i'm enjoy alot in the gathering see alot of new faces . Thanks to those who perform invidual on that day , i personaly respect you all have the confidence cause for me very pressure perform in front of all magician . Brendan card magic is impressive , Lai rope magic are very entertaining , darren card magic was impressive too and alot alot . Especially David lai his performance nothing special but his gayness ( hahaha sorry lah just kidding ) hope u guys dun be racist , just make friend with him . David lai your mentalism magic was impress me too very good performance .

after all the performance we starting gather up and jamming with magic , there are few group like brendan group was discusing card flourish and some are card magic and etc . then i was show a mentalism card magic to brendan and Kam , but suddenly i come out a joke hahahaha cause i ask Kam " Give me a number between 2 - 4 " hahaha it is so funny , sorry for my stupidity haha

And we planning to watch the movie " THE PRESTIGE " , have you guys watch it ? it is good movie for magician . But nobody wan to watch so then we cancel the plan , after that i left at 5:00 pm to went home .

At 8:00 pm i go back to MTR with my gf as well and meet up with brendan , shon , lai , and szehoe and we went for dinner . we go by 2 cars to SS2 MURNI and they ask Lai follow my car , and lai so sorry man they force you to be my spotlight hahaha . And we having fun at MURNI also , Lai show me his impressive linking ring routine and alot . we jam there until 12 am then only go home .

But i , brendan , my gf , and Lai haven't go home yet we went to SS15 Mc'D and meet up with robin and joe and drink again untill 2 am then only we left and go home . It is a TIRED day , Lai and Brendan stay overnight in my house and after take bath we still jamming with magic hahahaha ( we are hardcore magician )

We watch magic video that is Jeff Hobson Magic x live and Tom mullica most entertaining magic together then we sharing our magic . until 5:00 am Lai said very tired then i off the light and wanted to sleep , but suddenly brendan said the molecules cut is nice and i told him i want to learn then i on back light and starting elarn molecules cut hahahaha and Lai sleep already . After this we sleep bout 2 hours then we wake cause i need to go penang and that is our day , have fun alot !

Personaly i see the gathering more organize , and hope those magician can be hang out in MTR most of the time after this gathering and also hope we should organize more event like this to improve our magic in terms of skills , knowledge and presentation .

After this gathering we should go more others magic event and make it even better and better to raise up our reputation of magic society in malaysia to others country , LET's work it together , Agree guys ? And THANKS to MTR director Micheal and the others director too for sponsoring venue and drinks to us !

This is my very first post in this forum. I just registered to join the community!Thank you all for being there in MTR for the gathering. I personally think that there's even more activities that we can plan out for the next outing. Tri Knight is planning something for all you great Malaysian magicians out there and we will announce the thingy as soon as we have confirmed the details.

I think we should have more meet ups like this as I am sure all of us learned alot from each other's experience and knwoledge. The sharing is great! That's the spirit of fellowship! I cant think of other ways to improve faster than sharing!

Can't wait to join all of you for another gathering to see all your new tricks!
