Description: out of this world

Sebastian - November 1, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
Have any of u guys tried greed with a layperson before?, cause if u haven't, u gotta try it, it is brilliant. EVen better if it is a magician who has never heard of greed be4, :P . i just got it last week, and have been freaking people with it. it is amazing, Imagine a dollar note, and then imagine four visual changes, then ending it with a kicker, it is definetly one of the 'bestest' :D purchased i've made, and i hope u guys will to. Daniel Garcia is an amazing teacher.

Hey i saw that one!! Yen Loong passed it on to me! Yea, it's amazing! Ppl get stun so much!! It's a real killer!

But can it be done with ringgit bills? As we all know, American dollars are all green..... not like our colourful currency! Of course by stating this, it's obvious i don't know how the trick is done! So are u performing it with american bills??

Show it to us next time!!!

Yen Loong - November 1, 2006 04:47 PM (GMT)
Hi,

Haha, so how u perform in Malaysia ringgit? haha, cos there is some sort of thing cant work well right? during the between the second and third change...hehe

Hope this doesnt lead to exposure....

Nice day ^_^

i think it would not get this effect. our banknote is made of plastic and it's difficult to get the old paper banknote.

DesiWN - November 10, 2006 09:14 AM (GMT)
hey Seb i got greed too, are you using RM notes or USD? i dont think its possible with RM, well hope you can share with me, do PM cos mine is just sitting around collecting dust, thx, but great effect man i like it

Keat_How - November 12, 2006 05:42 AM (GMT)
I do greed, but with Malaysian Ringgit. Its possible. I make my own (I'm sure those who own it understand what I mean). I find it cooler, coz, think about it, it is also a very visual colour change (blue to green to red). But just want to add that it requires alot of misdirection when it comes to Malaysian ringgit due to the nature of the trick... Try it out and have fun!!!

p/s: I always have it in my wallet coz it really gets good responses!!!

Yen Loong - November 15, 2006 07:28 AM (GMT)
Hi,

Haha, i make it my own, but my art work is not very fine...hehe, still can improve, hoping on making another new one....but Greed really get a nice reaction....when you practice in front of mirror, i sure you also will feel the Greed is a visual trick...
but one of the phase when u using Malaysia ringgit you have to be carefull a bit...
those who have may know wheat i mean rite??

Nice day ^^

Jabz - December 1, 2006 06:08 AM (GMT)
I made my own gimmick, but the last change was quite obvious cause I was trying to hide half of one side...(malaysian's who made their own should know why).
So to get rid of this I quickly said now I'm going to change it to a 50, and before they answer I change it to a 50 cents coin.
I ussually will do this trick at night and after changing the bill I flash it for 2 seconds in front of spectator's face and quickly do another change.

Yen Loong - December 2, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
Hi,

Hehe, thats why i cut off the last change, and i only perform this at night...

Nice day ^_^

DesiWN - December 21, 2006 06:55 AM (GMT)
This thread really give me the semangat to do greed, although I haven't figured out away to make it with malaysian ringgit but, will not give up thanks guys have a nice day cheers

carsonsky - January 13, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
me too, I make my own greed gimmick.

But the final change is a little weird, like jabz mentioned, it looks funny when u suddenly wanna hide that much.

Im still working on a greed-able change with malaysia notes.

Daniel Garcia is definitely a good tutor

This is the trick where the magician show a bill for example a 5 dollar bill. Then he fold it and the bill change to a 10.Then he fold it again and it change to a 20.Thats what i remember about the trick. Its better if you watch the video again. You can watch it at Penguin Magic.

hello to my dear and wonderfull magical friends, i haven't written anything for awhile, cause was really busy.anyways, about greed, i came up with another idea of doing it, inspired by greg wilson(one of my idols), i use a U.S dollar note to begin with, then it changes to various different countries bill, doesn't really matter what are their values.
i have one where i use one dollar bills from U.S and malaysia, then a Rm 2 dollar bill, then 50 dollar note...don't worry, its monopaly money,(this gets some laughs), then comes the kicker ending, with the RM0.50 coin.
i have shown my sister this, and she was blown away, haven't tried it on anyone else though, so what do guys think?, please comment :P

the spec can see the different between the bill changing other than the color?
because the bill is folded , how they manage to see wats the country of the bill??

the 50 monopoly note is great idea..but u change it to 50(cent) again...
how bout thinking changing the 50 monopoly bill into Rm1 (coin not paper note, although it is hard to find now:( )

Bryan - October 16, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
monopoly bill is smaller than the actual bill isnt it? Using a ringgit bill to do greed。。。。。。。。(you know wad i mean)

Sukyi - October 17, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
this trick is too expensive for me... i mean... think about it... $1->$5->$10->$20->$50... that's $(1+5+10+20+50)=$86!!! I can almost get THREE JP's for that price... and also... i'm more of a flourisher... greed doesn't cut it for me. I think the biggest problem with greed in m'sia is that the bills are not the same size, not so much the color.

mods, i dont think i "flashed" anything, but feel free to edit if you want.

Daniel Garcia has mentioned in the video that to perform "Greed", will only cost $7, if I'm hadn't remembered it wrongly. It's not that expensive though.
Other than that, the same concept can be applied on other objects aside from bills.
