This might be a tab last min for you guys to make last minute travel plans but I thought I'll post it anyways in case someone is on their way down to S'pore or is keen enough to make the trip.

SMC is organising a 3 day 2 night Chalet + BBQ and we are expecting some pretty experienced and respected local magicians to attend. If anyone's interested, here's the details:

SMC Magic Chalet and BBQ

We are organising a Chalet and a BBQ for the biggest magic session of the year this December for all SMC forumites and visitors. Come and join us for a wild time of 3 days 2 nights of non stop fun and magic at Downtown East!

There are 2 major parts to this event, namely The Magic Chalet and The BBQ.
The Magic Chalet will be from 17 Dec to 19 Dec and includes all the activities below.
For those that cannot attend the full Chalet for various reasons, you can just come for The BBQ will be on 18 Dec evening. See below for more details.

This is an event OPEN FOR ALL, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED FOR THE FORUMS.
This is a great chance for you to meet all the people you have been writing to and/or reading about and discussing magic in these forums and to take it out of the Internet and do some real magic jamming session with everyone.
Join us for the longest magic meeting we have ever organised this holiday season at Downtown East Chalet!

It will be an activity filled event with magic sessioning, magic auctions, magic performances, more sessioning, BBQ, more sessioning, filming, more sessioning, games, more sessioning, etc etc...you get the idea. B)


This is an event not to be missed!

Where?
Both the Chalet and the BBQ will be held inside Downtown East (Pasir Ris).
The unit number and BBQ pit number will be made available later.


When?
The Chalet and all the activities will be from 17 Dec (4 pm) to 19 Dec (9 am).
The BBQ will be held on 18 Dec starting 6pm till Late.


Who?
This event is open to all forumites and visitors. That's right! Even if you are not registered in the forums, you are very welcomed to join us for this and meet all of us and we love to meet you too.
If you have never attended any of our gatherings before, this is a great chance to meet some people as there will be many like you who are attending for the very 1st time.

For safety reasons, persons under the age of 18 will not be staying overnight in the chalet unless accompanied by an adult who can be responsible for them.
But anyone and everyone is welcome to attend all our activities for all 3 days!

What?
We are finalising the activities plan with some key people as you are reading this. In the meantime, here's a rough guide to what will be happening.

17 Dec
4 pm Gathering and Magic Session
7 pm Dinner (Self provide)
9 pm+ Free and easy/Jamming

18 Dec
Morning Breakfast (self provide) and then Free and easy/Sports(basketball, soccer, swimming, cycling etc)/More Jamming
1 pm Lunch (Self provide)
2 pm Filming for those who want to make videos/Magic Jamming
4 pm Magic Auctions, $1 Auctions and Magic Exchange (Bring all the stuff you want to auction off or trade)
5 pm Prepare for BBQ
6 pm+ BBQ and Performances and Mingling till Late

19 Dec
Pack up and check out and Jamming over lunch.

We are having some more experienced magicians joining in the various jamming sessions but the details will be released in the next few days.


How (to pay and register)?
The Little Magic Shop will be collecting the monies on behalf of SMC for these 2 events. To register and pay for the event go to:

From there, just add the item you want to attend to your shopping cart and check out and make payment to The Little Magic Shop accordingly.
i.e. If you are attending all 3 days of activities, add The SMC Magic Chalet to your shopping cart. If you are only attending The BBQ, add The SMC BBQ to your shopping cart.

The prices are as follows:
Chalet + BBQ : $25
BBQ only : $15

If you register for the event with The Little Magic Shop before the 15th of Dec, you get a discounted price of:
Chalet + BBQ : $22
BBQ only : $12


Why?
Because magic cannot just be talked about. It needs to be performed, it needs to be verified, it needs an audience, only then can it be really appreciated. B)
And since it's the school holidays and we haven't had a major gathering for some time, this is a great chance to meet other magicians for some of our newer forumites.
And we know because of the strict forum registration rules, a lot of people read our forums regularly but have not been able to participate. This is a chance for us to include everyone.
And also, if you have been wanting to register for the forum but have been unable to because you only have a free email, just attend this event so that you may be verified in person and an account can be created for you.
