Are you sure he taught 2 Card Monte in Inside Magic? I think you are refering to Kard Klub where is primarily focus on 2 Card Monte , I own Inside Magic but it does not teach 2 Card Monte.

I use my own version. I saw Isaac's version and it is wonderful, I love his version, get the chance to see his version of 2 Card Monte you should, you'll be impressed, very good presentation and patter. Very creative as well.

I use Masked Magician's one. But I made a few variations in the setup of the two Kings just because I don't like doing.. triple lifts.

Hey man. IMO, i prefer Oz Pearlman's 2CM. There's more presentation to it...
Even though its old.. it hits them HARD!
I never fail to do this trick everytime i perform to laymen.
Christopher Ng - June 4, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
i create some platter
make them confuse abit
ask them to arrange the cards, which one they prefer to be up / bottom
then i make the 2 cards appear in my pocket, or maybe on my lips, on their head...anywhere.haha

My fav is...
David Williamsons version...

2cm...I normally performed Oz Pealman's version... Of course need strong misdirection but it always worked for me.

the battle of penguin vs. E meh, sze howe? haha *thinks back of MCG hangs outs watching youtube*
I find oz's version needs a lot more misdirection, but that's just 2cm in general. Unless you have a bad a$$ top change, you need some killer misdirection.
LOOK INTO MY EYES!!!! (MCG inside joke) ROFL!

Guys, try an "instant" 2cm. Without having to prepare the Aces.
1) All you need is whatever cards there are on top of the deck.
2) Do the sleight (you know what it is) and hand the card to the spectator.
3) Cut the deck.
4) Do the sleight again.
TaDaaaa! Instant 2cm that is. It works anyway with some lazy patter such as "which card is on top? which is on the bottom?".
They reveal both cards.
TaDaaa!

i would really call that the 2cm though. i mean, you could do it the regular way without setup. i just find it stronger with the setup... and with my patter, it DOES need setup.
Roy Foo - October 10, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
I couldn't agree more with Sukyi. The Setup method really sinks the effect into the spectators head as for the Impromtu method, it's kinda like a color changing effect. There isn't much concrete impact in it and it's quite confusing for the spectator who has poor memory.
I don't perform 2 Card Monte much and for the version I used, are taught by Oz Pearlman. I never seem to have problems with the misdirection. I find the effect 2 Card Monte is quite similar to Dr Daley's, where 2 cards seemingly changes to another. So, whenever I performed either one of them, I would leave the other one out in my card act.

I don really know which version i'm using cause it was my friend that thought me 2cm... I use the TC in my routine also..
Pros - I agree that if performed correctly it has good reactions...
Cons - If the spectator is not paying attention or if he does not understand what you are trying to say you will tend to confuse them...
Once in my 2cm performance the guy was so confused cause he wasn't really pay any attention to what i was saying(could be bad presentation on my part) so when i asked him which card do you think is at the top or bottom there was like no response but when he turned the card over his expression was priceless !!!
