Title: Colour Change Videos
Description: My Rant...

Hey guys, though this may sound like a huge rant to many of you, I feel it has to be said because in my point of view it is very true. Here goes nothing..
It has long been to my attention that a lot of people on these forums and others post up videos of "Colour Changes". Whilst this is a good way to get feedback on some moves, what is the point? If you seriously sat yourself down and thought about it - what is the point in posting up a video primarily on a few colour changes, just to get feedback? If you want REAL feedback, you'd incorporate that change into a small routine and show it. At least THAT way we would see how you would use it and for what situation.
For example, some guy performed an Erdnase/Houdini Change as a way to vanish a card. It was nicely executed but unless your arsenal of changes consists of only that change, you should not be performing. Any valued magician out there would know there are plenty more visual changes to acquire the same effect - my example goes to the Winter Change. What I am saying is that it really is pointless and rather uninteresting. Plus, it begins to get annoying after seeing the same videos consisting of the same changes every while. :(
Sorry if I have upset some of you by this, but I think it needed to be told, but my love to you all still goes strong.

That totally makes sense...
nobody really wants to see how well you do a move...well maybe....
unless you feel like showing off a bit...
I would rather see how you would use it in different circumstances...
incorporate it into different routines, using them to substitue boring sleights for more visual eye candy...
just my 2 cents anyway.... XD

Same goes for all other sleights too (cards, coins, and everything else)

Hey guys,
Glad some of you agree. :) It has become something that has come to the front of my mind for a while now, so I just needed to get it off my chest.

abt 2-3 yrs ago, colour change videos were like wow to watch, but now, im kinda lil sick of them especially those that arent done well.
Jordan has made a v good point. U can show some CC in ya vids, but pls not a whole vid just on CCs. Well, you can do for ya own collection but I think one still prefers to see "how" u use this in the magic u do.
Cheers,
Brendan

There are people in MagicVideoDepot that brought up the same matter before and I have to agree with you strongly, I find it better to add color changes in a routine than to just make a video primarily consisting of color changes. You have a very good point there. Have you agree with you whole heartedly.
