any card trick also can change into a birthday present. it depends on your imagination.

magic: 2CM
effect: 2 aces become 2queen rite infront of spectators eyes

with a litter creativity
it can be 2 aces become 2aces with the words "happy and birthday" on each of the card.

Benjamin, if you are performing one on one to a girl, simple tricks will do. Tricks that I'll do are,

Happy Birthday trick (Doc Eason): Their signed card has a suprise birthday message at the back of the card. Sweet...

Ring on string: Use their finger ring of course!

Card on ceiling: Send their birthday wish written on the card up to the ceiling!

If there are friends, don't forget Paper Balls Over the Head..

No,I never show her any magic before. ;) I don't think so girl will like to watch card trick(some girl lah,not all the girl),to me I pefer using props will better. :) So,that's why I post this topic.

speaking from a girl's stand point... props aren't impressive... like any magic trick, you need to personalize it for the person/people you're performing to... but i'd say, make her the star... make her the center of attention in your trick... don't go for some fancy show off prop... she'll want to know how it's done... and yes, us girls are well aware of how easily guys cave in to letting secrets out to girls ;)

i find out that girls love sponge ball magic..because its cute :lol:

Girls love sponge balls is very true, they really love them, children as well. They love the color of the sponge balls, red. :D

Sam: I like your idea of the card on ceiling where you wish them Happy Birthday, I find that very creative and hope to try out on my friend's soon! I bet they will want to keep it there forever.

Benjamin: As a person who loves to flirt, (don't get my wrong I don't learn magic to impress girls and attract their attention or whatever like that) I personally find that this is a very good topic, thanks for bringing this up for us in MMF to discuss, I'm sure it will help many of us in our performances and routine in the years to come. :D

Haha, or you could force a card on her that has happy birthday written on it, then do an ACR with the card, and finally end with a card 2 wallet or something like that.

The ACR works very well if you can come up with a good story, like... erm... if you know her well, you can say, she never gives up, no matter what problems she faces(put card in the middle of deck) she always tries her best and comes out on top(wow card comes up on the top! lolx).

Then slip in a joke, cull it to the bottom. Joke can be something like... there was one time she thought she failed... and then she said "die die" then show the card on the bottom, the deck facing up = die XD, but then somehow she managed to come back up on top again! :)

Fun innit! I love coming up wif crappy stories hehehe.

Added: Actually, come to think of it, if you want to be slightly more romantic, end with a card in pocket, so when she's reaching inside ur pocket(jacket hopefully!) you dump the cards into another pocket and make a rose appear in the other hand.

alright taking about props, I'd say just a hankerchief and a rose would be good. Production and some flip stick routine if you're doing it on stage :)

I went through my props and i realised that most would get good reaction from girls, it just depends on how you present it.

Sponge magic and the card to pocket routine like Vincentp just mentioned would be great. :)


Some other ideas.

cards: cards to pocket, spectator cuts to aces with hidden message at the back of the card, or 3cm with hidden message
coins: close-up misers' dream with a card with birthday message as finale
rubberbands: if you're using her hands to perform, it's going to yeild good reaction.(cmh, or linking rubberbands)
You can also try to perform metal bending in Robin's way. :P

btw remember that some girls just don't like magic. I've made girls scream by using my linking rings and i've gotten no reaction from this girl even when I've shown all my best effects T_T

Ouch. You are so good in magic, with your extremely entertaining patter, presentation, and routine, and get no reactions...pity you. BUT, guess that is what many of us have to face at some stage of our lives as a magician.

Uhm, I dunno about impressing girls with flowers and handkerchiefs with hidden messages these days :huh: I think it's kinda... WAAAY too old school. You guys don't actually have to try to look all casanova to impress a girl; I guess they'd respect those who do it rather subtly t han all out with baloons and shit.

At one party, I got a girl's number by just performing card effects.
