My personal suggestion, movie music is the best. :) like...james bond, pirates of the carribean,matrix,spider-man,eragon...etc :P Audience will think:'eh?!james bond music, sure have some thing special!'. ;) The main point is,choose the music who are familiar. :) Hope it can help you.
cheers,

You should choose music that suits and blends in well for your routine, for example, if you performing an elegant card manipulation routine with one-handed fans, reverse fans, fan productions, card productions and vanishes, etc, choose music that is slow, classical, soothing, while on the other hand, if you are performing in a dark, scary scenario, with mask changing effects, scary looking props, and everything is done fast, choose music that suits that style, always choose music that fits, suits, and blends in well with the particular style and routine you are performing.
You'll never see a rock singer playing classical music, right? Same applies here.

Perhaps your target audience should be taken into account as well. From what Jarret has said, it will depend on your routine. For some stage magic, you would not need music if you prefer speaking while performing.
