I purchased a svengali deck from magic-i in sunway pyramid. I really love the effect and the ingenius creation of the deck..only prob is..the price is still haunting me.2 all u guys out there,i spent rm 30 on this deck...and nope its not even A bicycle deck, rather its the normal card like deck, which can wear off easily. Any advise on wether or not it was value for money. Oh honestly where is the cheapest magic store in malaysia? i dont think i would rather spend rm 30 again on another cardboard like deck. Oh...lastly any1 wanna share tips on svengali deck...do reply ok...Thk u for ur time off...God bless

I bought the svengali deck at Toy'rs and it only cost me RM 14 if I remember but its still not a bicycle deck.It is Fantasma Magic deck. They did not call it Svengali deck but they call it Miracle deck. The effect is still same.I like this deck because I can create a great routine with it.

Magic is a very expensive hobby. When you start out, you might feel cheated out of cash as some things are very expensive. However, the "VALUE" is when you're able to delight audiences and crowds with your miracles.
Don't spend too much at one time. Try limiting to one new purchase (of around RM10-RM50) a month. I don't even buy a lot of stuff. I just buy some cards and a DVD every now and then. However I do buy a lot of supermarket silverware, haha.

RM 30 is still ok. I remember buying mine about 10 yrs back from Singapore and it cost around RM25. Imagine RM25 ten years back. With a lot of stuffs flying in from China I think the price is more reasonable now.
Anyway like what Adlan said Magic is a very expensive hobby.
Sometime you pay for a very high price and when you open up the box you only get a piece of plastic which your mum will probably throw it awya if it's lying in the floor.

So true magic is a really expensive hobby, even more so when you're purchasing things online from like ellusionist.com
From what i've heard, fantasma is quite a good brand, even though it's sold at a non-magician outlet. I have a deck (forgot what it's called) that only cost me RM20. But it's not a cardboard deck, rather plastic actually. and er..... it's not ur average poker size either. Either ways, maybe start looking at other shops. I think we've a post up here somewhere about m'sian shops. You could try looking there! Worst come to worst, order things online. It may be expensive but they do guarantee quality.

Magic is all about learning knowledge. Is not the product it self making it expensive but the knowledge of using the products. Our parents even invest in our education for high price so that we can have more knowledge right ? Do I sound like your papa ? :)

I got my svengali from a magic club stall in Mahkota Parade, bought it as part of a set. The cards are made of plastic, quite durable, I've been using it for quite awhile and it still handles fine. Only thing, my svengali is a 9 of clubs (wished I had a red pips card..looks more visual for me  ah well)
