Dear All,

Im trying to get this lecture to be done in Msia. Kenneth Kok is a HK magician who resides in Sydney Aus doing his degree there.

He is a well known card magician.

He plans to come to Spore and Msia to do lecture this April. 21st April in Spore and 22nd April (sunday) in Msia.

I need fast confirmation on who will come. We need at least 30-40 people for this lecture to be successful.

Estimate cost is RM50-60 depending.

Here's a bit abt him:

Zenneth Kok is an innovative magician from Hong Kong who has created over 200 original tricks and publish 6 sets of lecture notes. He is the chief editor of the first ever Chinese monthly newsletter called “Evocation” that is devoted to close-up magic. He is best known for the marketed effect “Impossible Twist” which has rave reviews from John Carney, Ray Kosby and Reed McClintock. Zenneth is presently touring Australia with this lecture.

The LECTURE will include his 8 Cards Act II – a mini card act that will be published in a booklet shortly by H & R. Zenneth will also discuss his Inducing Challenges Theory and a good application for it. He will teach some of his original moves and creations with playing cards.


I encourage all you card addicts and card magicians to come for this lecture...

I agree that it's tought to organise a lecture in Malaysia.

Well, it's not right to say it this way. It's not we are NOT WILLING to support or pay. At least for my case.

I really can't make it on that day. I already have 3 shows on that day and 1 of my customer has requested me to perform the show personally, they don't want any substitute.

I'm coming for the Fukai Lecture because it's on Monday. If it's not on Monday, I defintely can't make it because my weekend show for this month has already fulled.

I'm going for the Asia Magic Festival (not for competition, just for the gathering) because I was informed early. As a matter of fact, I just received a PO 4 days ago asking me to perform on 9 June. Since, I've made up my mind to fo for AMF, I rejected the show. This show alone I lost RM1,500; coming down to KL for 3 days, anytime I might lost more than RM2,500.

My point here is clearify that "No body is willing to support or pay or watever" is an wrong assumption. It's not that nobody is willing to support or pay; it's that I (or maybe other pro as well) can't make it.

Samuel , Brendan not pointing at you . He said bout mostly the people not willing to pay out a single penny for attending a lecture course and soever . You are comparing your time , show, and take your carrer job as a compartion . How unfair was that ? No offence =)

I was trying to say it seems or some how there are many magicians here not supportive of events or lectures... i dunno why. Is it because of the $$$ involved or is it coz of time.

I mean i get a lot of complains (even i myself complain)....."why no magic convention or no magic lectures in msia one..."....

The answer is coz we dont have the support from fellow local magicians.... Somehow... i wish all this is untrue. Im sure we are all good people magicians here, and would support overseas or even local magicians when they come to msia to give a lecture.

Somehow... maybe if I put FREE lecture.. then all would show up... i dunno..

Anyway.... come on... u heard Amane... he has been to Zenneth's Lecture.... he knows wat he is talking abt. And i also heard and read much abt him.... if no lecture this time.... dont dream of having another lecture by him in the near future.... i dunno...

As for Fukai's lecture... I cant make it and I know it would benefit those who are in stage magic. Im a close up card guy and Zenneth's lecture is what Im targetting to go to.

Lecture goes for about an hour and a half
with a break in between

There are lecture notes (2 sets, 1 has easier stuff in it)
but no DvDs =)

Im not sure if super noobs will gain much from the lecture. Im pretty sure Zenneth wont be going thru how to do DL, elmsley counts, etc etc....

But I think if u know abit abt card magic... u'll probably gain more.

Anyway.... no harm signing up as they will always be time to go thru the sleights u not familiar with after the lecture. Hopefully one wouldnt ask too many noobie questions during the lecture, as that will limit the amount of time and material to go through.

Whether the lecture happens or not.. (i think it will happen)...Zenneth is still coming to Msia anyway.... Im excited to meet him. :)
