Oh man! This disappoint me a lot. :(

I am actually a very open person which would like to share everything here in this forum for the benefit to our fellow friends here.

Here in this forum sometimes is quite dull, that's why I came up some topic here to discuss and I really want this forum still continue its role and serve as a portal of magicians gathering here to exchange experience and knowledge here.

My purpose is to share what we have and to enhance our magic community, the knowledge, and the magic happenings here. :(

If not, why I should waste my time of sitting in front of my computer to start review and typing all my reviews and share the experience with everyone here. Seems like nobody appreciate what I did for the forum here. :(

Pls do not give up on this forum. I nearly wanted to give up last time but then i thought abt it again and the thought abt the purpose of having this website. Yes, we do have very few members in this forum that actually contribute. Yes, the forum seams kinda abit dead at times but there is where i need u guys to contribute more.

It cant be just waiting for Andrew and I to come out with the topics. I can see a few newer members like doktokaro and baalan starting to contribute more and that's great. keep it up guys. Lets all not look at the bad side of this forum but rather to improve it together as a TEAM.

We are all here to fellowship and learn and gain some ideas and knowledge from each other. So let make full use of it and be a contributer.

There is so much that we can talk abt in magic. Just think, look at other posts, topics we read etc. that would give us some ideas.

I am not v knowledgeable abt magic literatures and all so... as u can see i dont use fancy terms or literature ... i kinda am hooked with flourishes. However it just seems that NOBODY seem to like it or interested in it as no one really post in the flourish section. Isaac, i know u are getting very interested in flourishes arent u? if u have any questions on any moves or any flourish... just post it up on flourish section dude..

Last but not least, we are all here to contribute and help each other out in our art. In order for this forum to survive we need 100% support and we dont need people to put us down like that. Come on, cheer up and let all be a contributer. Invite frens, invite those interested in magic/flourish. ask them come join MMF and from there then we can see that our forum will grow. If a small country like spore can have >20 thousands of posts, why cant a country like malaysia do that? Malaysia BOLEH rite? So.. come on MMF boleh!

Boring? Hmm... seems like this "boring topic" is generating some interest :lol: How ironic :D

Anyway, one reason that this forum is said to be boring is because it's members don't contribute so MagicB and Andrew Loh can't be blamed as they contribute a lot. B)

On why I don't contribute much ... basically I am pretty new to magic, am limited in my experience, the props I have, books, and am learning ...

1. Time constraints (both in surfing and posting as well as sadly practising magic :( )

2. Not a net savvy person. Not my 2nd nature to post stuff...

3. Nothing to say that is helpful on topics posted (ie. don't understand, or don't know that much or simply not interested) On the last point - there's nothing wrong with that and it doesn't mean the topic is necessarily boring .... fact is, different people have different interests. :o

4. The limitations of a forum - secrets can't be revealed etc., right, so it is quite a task to phrases cvomments and questions just right to honour the "magicians's code(?)". And even if it wasn't about trade secretrs, tryign to express somethig in writng is not easy.


I post on occasions like this when I think I have something to contribute (which may be boring to others :wub: but that's ok too :)

The way I see it, maintaning a free forum like this is a labour of love. We (not directed at anyone in particualr - generic use of term) should appreciate those who have taken the trouble to set this up. If we are not happy, then we should be free to leave. If we think we can do a better job, then we should go and set up our own forum (that's what I like about the philosophy behind the start and success of Magic Cafe).

If I am not mistaken Magic B and Andrew are not professional magicians and relatively young in age. To expect them to perform wonders so fast with this forum is in myu opinion asking a bit too much. Let's be realistic and go easy.

I'm with another local forum that is run by Anselm Roy Eric who is internationally acclaimed professional (I saw his Merlin Award trophy for most creative magician - 2001) and was openly stated by Franz Harary to be in the same league as Criss Angel. And even his club forum is SSSLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW. But that's OK ... as a forum has many limitations. Let's be realistic.

I think we must also be realistic that in any forum, there will be CORE members. They are the ones who will keep it going as they are committed. The Magic Cafe has thousands of members but look at how many are contributing? Most lurk or post occasionally. I have been there since Aug 2003 but have recorded less than 70 posts ... (I think). It is core that keeps it going strong.

Last but not least (sermon is ending ... :lol: ) a forum will only be successful if its members make it successful.

magicb, I am really interested in flourishing right now, really would like to learn a couple of basic moves. Right now I'm learning the moves taught on kevin's site heheheheh.

It's true, this site is a little dull. I come here, and we're just re-hashing old topics, and it's mostly just brendan and andrew posting... I would feel more incited to post if there really was anything good to post about. But right now, I think the topics have been beaten to death on other forums... why not a new concept? Some in-malaysia contests, maybe? How about talks about a singapore-malaysia outing? Come on, there's always more stuff to talk about than the same old topics, no?

I say, we have to give a hand to 30210162, because if not for him helping to spark up a tad bit of controversy, we wouldn't be discussing as much as we are now.

i have to agree with u about the topics being rehashed to death. But this forum is only a few months old. We'll all have to chip in to give it its momentum.

plus, not eveyone's a member of the cafe or the SMC, so i suppose its ok to rehash some of the topics.

I think it's only fair to say that this forum is really new- a couple of months at the most. People shouldn't balme the mods or admin folks that this place isn't lively. I believe that MMF belongs to everyone here- you choose to make it lively or dead.
