Title: Which Book Is Good?

weirdoc - April 6, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
I need a book on the theory, art and concepts of magic. I'm thinking of buying strong magic by Darwin Ortiz as I've seen a lot of you have reccomended it in serveral posts. I was also thinking of buying the one from Ellusionist called Absolute Magic by Derren Brown. It's no longer in print and Ellusionist are selling the last of them. Another one that caught my eye from Ellusinist is Magic of Ascanio book Vol. 1.

Which one to buy or have you guy got another one to reccomend?

I don't have both books you mentioned although I've heard nothing but good things about those books.

I'd like to add 1 book that I do have and have read:-
Magic and Showmanship - Henning Nelms

I suggest you to go for Strong Magic.

One of the best book around.

From what I've read, Strong Magic is a book on presentation and how to make card magic stronger specifically. Not sure about the rest of the books mentioned.

One book on presentation of magic in general is Ken Weber's Maximum Entertainment :)

Books of Wonder Volumes 1-2 by Tommy Wonder.

Yes, go for Strong Magic and Designing Miracles. You NEED to read these books.

Another book would be Magic and Showmanship: A Handbook for Conjurers by Henning Nelms.

Strongly recommended too.

I would highly recommend Maximum Entertainment by Ken Webber . I do not have strong magic but I do won Absolute Magic by Derren Brown . Much more theoretical . You can 't go wrong with Maximum Entertainment though ...
