Hi there,
Fuyoo magic?? Anyone know who is the guy?? Hows his performance??
take care
Nazar - April 21, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
hi guys,
i've watched the show once and if i'm not mistaken, his name is Shahril. donno where he's from. read a writing bout him in a paper once..
anyway...from my personal opinion (althought i'm not n expert) i cud say that his performances is lack of commincation skills...in a way, he knows how to do the trick...but the mislead, the communications, the excitement, the jokes, the mysterious feeling of magic is not quite there. he does a great trick, but the extra 'affect' on people he doesn't have...
haha...even 1 time he was a co-host in an astro programme. he did a few tricks that was too obvious...even for a noobie like me. amongst that was 'kantoi' was..the hanky vanish trick..could obviously see the TT which wasn't quite 'on', then he did the 'two rubber bands' (sorry don't know the name of the trick) which obviously you could here and see something 'snaped' and lastly he did the 'mental photography deck' (the one from a blank deck -> all printed -> blank again)...
just my 2cents.
p/s: i'm totaly new in MMF, please forgive my jargons/words...
cardevect - April 26, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
since you guys started this...all i want to say is that if you look at fuyoo magic all that you can see is him exposing magic and after a performance this is what happens... 'magic kan? magic kan?' when he dont get the reactions from the audience.
like what Nazar said
"but the mislead, the communications, the excitement, the jokes, the mysterious feeling of magic is not quite there. he does a great trick, but the extra 'affect' on people he doesn't have..."
people often think that once they know a trick or two they can perform it well and its totally wrong. A person may know how to do a trick but to execute it at the right timing and to get a good reaction from the audience, that have to come with alot of hard practice.
Participate more in Ellusionist forum and you see they even have a section on presentation. This is a very interesting topic in the forum, "Great Magician, BAD performer"
Great power comes with great responsibilities. It's Magic!
Nazar - April 27, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
hahah...thats true cardevect, he always ask the audience 'magic tak?' or 'magic kan?' after each effect...
last tuesday i went back early to catch that show...FYI it is on Astro Ria (4), every tuesday 10.30pm. In this particular episode, he did the card change (wave the card and it turns to another one)...sori, can't seem to remember the tricks name.
anyway...one more thing that i noticed about this show are the camera angles..by right a magician should always remind the cameraman from where to shoot and which angles exposes us...but in doing the card change trick, the cameraman shot from behind the magician on the left side (for right handers) which exposes the break and even revealing the whole trick actually...it was obviously a DL.
i watched till the end of the show to look for the magicians email, but they didn't put it up...i guess if i got he's email, i'd email him a few things..not to condemn him but to suggest to him stuffs that could preserve the our secrets and also things that could improve him...also to ask him to join MMF la...hahaha (or is he a registered member?) sorry...

Nazar,
I'm sure he reads our posts. His brother is a member of this forum. We had an earlier thread discussing this topic, which eventually turned a bit ugly, and had to be moved to a private section.
isaac - April 27, 2007 04:39 AM (GMT)
I met him once in Magic-i.
He is indeed a very talented and good magician.
Love his DL and his cards.
Well, I guess we shouldn't compare him with Fuyoo Magic.
Totally a different level of skill and presentation. :D

it really turned ugly ker? fuyoo...never meant to be that way, just thinking of sharing and improving amongst each other. coz i also shot a few of my friends trick and the major concern 4 me as a cameraman is the angles...we also decided to cut which ever footage that we have that is too revealing. so, just hope we could remind him thats all.. :D
p/s: no harm intended, just my 2 cents to improve ourselves...

Hmmm....Glad to hear U guys like Ezat's Demo ..... ^_^
BTW Ezat's is a friend of Henzi Andalas . I once watch Henzi+Ezat Perform a Very Freaky trick which, Henzi was holding the selected card with his hand Penetrate thru Ezat's stomach...... that trick is really freaky!!. I saw they do it on "The BreakFirst Show" @NTV7  ........
Ezat also Reminds me of Criss Angel lolx
Hmmm......well, Sharill's PR is not that gr8, Especially with Foreign Spectator. At first I don't really like Fuyoo Magik and the Way Sharill Perform, He kinda desperately wants people to see how cool he is. But then I get the hang of it ;) ....At first it's cool that Sharill teach some magic trick but, He expose magic tricks from "Jay Sankey Amazing Magic Tricks Anyone Can Do" :!!:
What's bad about Fuyoo is that Sharilll always perform Perdiction Magic which sometimes it get's boring!
Compare Sharill to Ezat, Ezat has been in magic for 10years, Sharill's only 5years....
(yes I do know :ph43r: )

pretty cool effect man!!
haha, Ezat performed some ACr to some mmf members
He did the spread dam nice, his cards handling is good
one thing he did a crimp on my GHOST CARD!!!
sakit hati..haha
forget to get his signature on my cards, heard he gonna be popular very soon
haha

A malaysian magic show, must give support... not gonna miss it..
simonskp - September 7, 2007 01:38 AM (GMT)
so guys how was the show... i missed it due to some matter... sigh can some of you give some reviews... thanks
Christopher Ng - September 7, 2007 06:05 AM (GMT)
Ezat is good
He could have done much better than this...
Cut down posing and funny facial expression, increase the number of tricks
There are some cool tricks like moving pips and water into coke..
The film editing is not so good also, imo, it will better if they remove unnecessary lead time and mistakes,
For eg, fail to force for the first time, cut it. show the successful force at the next round...
Get to some more lively crowd, so that response will be better, let the spectator ( we who watch) know what is happening, don't just jump into the part where he say : i got 2 cokes here, choose one..." suddenly, out of no where
Just my comments in case someone who watched it decided to follow his style or have their own street magic video recording
I believe that all 13 episodes have already filmed, so no point pointing all these out actually... :P
Roy Foo - September 7, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
I've missed the premier episode but I heard some feedbacks regarding the show.
I guess NTV7 isn't some network station like FujiTV, NBC, FOX that invest high budgets on this particular project. Hence, the premier episode ended in a sloppy quality I would say. By means, post production team could have done better to make the 1/2 hour show look spectacular. It's been quite a shame though as so many years have been past on, our local TV network has not made any significant improvement. Just take a look the advertisement project below by RTM1. It's such a disgrace~!
Youtube LinkRegarding Ezat's performance, I think it's not the best we've seen by far as some sloppy sleights and mistake are exposed. The Camera Crew could have retake the performance on another spectator if the previous shot wasn't great. D*mn NTV7~! It's a TV special anyway~!
At the end of the day, I would say "Always strive for the best". Even if anyone here who is going out to take their own Street Magic Video, always believe that you're the best magician of all-time. Make it seems like you're David Blaine[Not a Clone] or even better than David Blaine. I know it's really hard but it's a great confidence builder. ;)
Have fun~!
Cheers,
Roy JR Foo

Henzi here... B)
I gave Ezat the push and contacts to get that show on the air for one main reason..
To get Malaysian Magic out there on TV..
Ezat is a great passionate Magic talent..
All the rest, Production quality, Editing etc.. are normal "teething" problems when you're just starting out in anything really..
Baby steps yah.. ^_^
Keep supporting him yup! Thanks! ;)
