Title: Card To Rose
Description: For stage ?

CardicianAndy - May 12, 2007 10:45 AM (GMT)
Think of performing Card to Rose on the stage to the lovely ones. Haha.. Any comment ??

VincentP - May 13, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
I've done it a few times(hehe)... The whole routine is fine, you just need to practise the rose production the most I feel.

Oh ya, be careful not to ever drop the cards >.< That happened to me once, unfortunate slip up.

CardicianAndy - May 24, 2007 08:59 AM (GMT)
Hey dude ... Do you really know what im asking ? i not wanting you to teach me how to handle the cards or something . I mean is it suitable for stage ? Thanks .,

VincentP - May 24, 2007 09:37 AM (GMT)
I guess it could be suitable for stage, if you use what the promo video did, of someone filming you, showing on a big screen that the audience can see what exactly you are doing with the volunteer on stage, including the choosing of the card etc.

If not, most probably not, as it's too far away. It depends really on how far the audience is, the audience size etc. It is essentially a piece of close-up magic.

You did not make yourself clear, so kindly do not blame me. You just said any comment, which could have included anything from while performing it to the volunteer on stage, to whether the audience can see it etc. Sorry but I just felt your comment was slightly rude.

Watch the promo video of the Korean magician. Then decide for yourself.

Brendan Low - May 24, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)
CardicianAndy, I gotta agree with VincentP here. Ur reply back to his comment was a lil.... hmmmm.

He wasnt trying to teach you how to do the effect. He was merely letting you to beware when handling the cards, not slipping and dropping it when u spread, as this happened to him once b4. And the rose production part is the part where need most practice. That all he said.

And yeah, if u watched the promo vid, he did it on stage with a cam shooting him and projecting on big screen. So yeah, it can be done.

Peace guys,
Brendan

Your above comment just shows your immaturity. I just said I THOUGHT it was SLIGHTLY rude, not outrageously or downright rude and did not want to judge you as such as I understand very well that miscommunication happens very easily over the internet. No need to get so worked up over that and blow things out of proportion declaring you are rude, asking the admins to ban you etc. Why bother losing your temper over such a small thing?

If you did not mean to sound rude, you could have just said you didn't mean to sound rude and I would have accepted your explanation and apologised for the misunderstanding.

Well I am glad you found my comments helpful. The only way, in my opion, for the trick to be feasibly performed on stage is for that shown in the promotion, as stated earlier. However, if anyone else could think of any other way for it to be performed for a large scale audience their opinions are most certainly welcome.

I apologise if my initial comments were not that which was wanted and if they implied that you are cannot deal well with cards, which might have triggered off your response. I did not in any way mean any reference to your card handlig skills, which are most probably much more superior to mine

My apologies for any trouble my posts might have caused.

Yours sincerely.

VincentP - May 28, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
Damn means my performance is quite bad, so far no crushes on me yet, or none that I know of anyway hahaha... to be fair I only performed it 3 times hehe, and each time was only to that person.

Oh well~

Jennifer - May 29, 2007 02:12 AM (GMT)
Be charming!! Think tall, dark and handsome charismatic person!! Give a devilish smile! Witty-ness! Be confident when u do it! And most importantly....

DON'T GIVE ANY PICK UP LINES!!! Eg. A sweet for the sweet.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet

Kam - May 31, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
Oh god please not the card to rose trick... Everything has to be RIGHT to pull it off without it looking cheesy or "normal". Many times, I saw magician does that trick to show the "romantic side of him" oh glory to the lord... Please tell me you're not one of them. Cheesy dull magicians should be confined in a room reading Maximum Entertainment.

Please take my comment with a grain of salt :)

VincentP - May 31, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
Haha... well once was as an apology and two times as a birthday present. Didn't bring any present so just did a rose instead hahaha. Cheapo I know but I wasn't really interested in them anyway. Took it as the easy way out.

Thanks for the advice tho Jennifer. :)

isaac - June 1, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
Kam,

2 thumbs up for you.

*clap clap clap*.

Indeed I think many if not all should start reading Max Entertainment.

Isaac

Now this is the reason why i hit u...........

Sukyi - July 15, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
yeah.. Yukiko may be the one that knows ninjitsu, but i think Jenn hits guys more. Unlike me... I just hit ON guys! hahaha... just kidding.

Back on topic, I think card to rose shouldn't just be done to random girls or used as a pick up line or anything. Birthdays are alright, but I think ultimately, if you want it to be cute or sweet, do it after you've got the girl. Be it your girlfriend, fiance or wife.

Eh dun la I treat u so nice. After my mum ask me where all the blue black come from I don't know how to answer her le... takkan I say oh got this girl beat me =.= After she don't let me come KL again all your fault la.

Anyway back on topic, yeah I agree with you, Sukyi. Cost me a bomb though that deck. I'd have gotten a blank deck and drew on it, but my drawing skills are horrible. Oh well~ cheapo magician do for birthday XD I guess my next attempt will be limited to either someone's birthday or when I get a girlfriend, which is goodness knows when, although someone was trying to matchmake me yesterday =.= Don't ask who what where when why.

Sukyi - July 15, 2007 03:25 PM (GMT)
WHAAAAAAAT? I saw you yesterday! How did i not know about match making?!

Matching making in M'sia has a potential referral/introduction fees of around RM 2k market rate, in case most of you do not know.

Good money huh??
