Have you seen Joe Mogar's DVD?

http://www.mogarsmagic.com/

Also Tarbell, Volume 4 has a section on Thimble Magic
FIFTY FAKES by George Johnson can be found on Learned Pig in their old books archives, along with Later Magic by Hoffmann - both of which have sections devoted to thimble magic.

One problem with thimble magic that is making it become a thing of the past is that their use is becoming rare (at least in the USA). A good substitute that people can understand is to use the tops of magic markers instead of thimbles. Thus your introduction to the act might be where you take a magic marker to write something, and stick the cap on your finger. Then you begin your act by trying to remove the cap and replace it on the marker, only it vanishes, changes color, etc.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that thimble magic and thimble manipulation are two separate things. Everything you see in Shoot Ogawa's act started as a thimble magic trick. It is his presentation that turns the individual tricks into what you call thimble maniuplation, but I call a thimble magic routine.

Kenny,

Give it a few days. You only 2 days has passed between your posts.
If your book doesn't arrive in 3 weeks, maybe then its ok to wonder or complain.

One more thing you got to realise, you and him are in different timezones.

If Jeff Gan did thimble manipulation, his ones would be custom made.

I can't answer for the others, but yes, I have always done thimble magic. However, when I changed over to Wizard style magic, the thimbles became somewhat transformed to skulls and things. I now do a bizarre sort of magic using the old thimble moves but this time for making little creatures come to life in my hands.
