Title: What Do You Do?
Description: Student or Working

Brendan Low - June 8, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Gday Members,

Thought of posting something useful that we can discuss rather than just no meaning posts.

Just wanting to get to know where members are from in this forum.

I would think that the majority of us here are still students?

If so, what do you study or what do you intend to study when you go college or uni?

As for those who are working, what do you do? Are you working in the field that you studied in?

:)

Im a student studying acca in sunway
studying a course which has no daylight
planning to get a job in China after graduation

Today, after the first round of competition, i got impressed by the china contestant

I am so inspired by her, the way she bring in the essence of china tradition into magic arena, mask changing, mirror, comb, bow and arrow, chinese kung fu, etc
the flow was so smooth and beautiful

China is one of the earliest origin of many fascinating magics and illusions
I hope i got a chance to further explore chinese magics in the future,

Yeah I work as the COO of a product distribution company. I used to be an on-air TV editor for MiTV.

I may soon quit my job cos I'm setting up a recording studio. If I can get it started, feel free to come and lepak and talk magic with me.

I'm a student currently studying A levels in Taylors University College. I'm going to finish this course in about 6 months time.

I have no idea what to do after my A levels. For one, my parents have different expectations of me. Secondly, i love magic and music, both which i can't do full time.

That's me! :P

Yes, I do.

Actually, I have a new band which formed about 6 months ago. It's the first time I'm writing and playing Malay songs, so it's kinda weird. My old band was mostly jazzy/bluesy rock.

I haven't played live in front of a crowd in 4 years. I'm trying to get my new band real tight before going public, cos I don't want to repeat some old mistakes.

Sukyi - June 10, 2007 05:42 PM (GMT)
Student in Western Michigan University.

I currently have a junior status(3rd year student).

Pursuing a degree in Business Marketing with a minor(second concentration) in Chinese Culture.

What's next? I plan on doing a Bachelors in Chinese Culture, upon graduation, while working on a Masters in Business Administration(MBA) over in California. That's still to be confirmed.

I was working in an electronics store and a cafe in America. So the routine went, class in the morning, cafe in the afternoon, electronics store at night. It made me a fairly anti-social person at the time.

Much like Brendan, I am pretty active in church. In America, I'm a counselor to middle school girls. We have middle school meetings once a week, which is somewhat like youth group meetings, but it's only 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Ultimately, God comes first in my life.

I have been a magic hobbyist for the past 2 years(give or take a little). I get stage fright, so, stage and parlor magic just ain't for me right now. I enjoy playing with metal(linking rings, pk, fork and spoon bending, coins, etc), but I am also getting to learn that the eye candy, which we call flourishing, just captivates me for a brief moment. Also, at times, on my off days, I can find myself watching manipulation acts on youtube all day.

Well, that's me, in a nutshell!

I'm a final year business degree student majoring in accounting and finance in Taylor's University College under UTS programme.

Im planning to get my CPA so that i can be a charted accountant in malaysia. planning to do my internship in ernst & young, hope they will accept me end of this year before i graduate ;)

I love sports a lot and of course magic,

Im a taekwondo black belt Dan 2 holder since 16 years old(i cannot got for my dan 3 until im 21). currently doing part time refereeing if my association needs me

Im a former state bowler representing Kuala Lumpur, played before SUKMA, inter-state, MSSM, Malaysia open but have since retired(now only play for my college)..planning to take coaching course if i have time :)

I love computer games a lot, participated in 2005 Malaysia World Cyber Games and Electronic Sports World Cup under the game of Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). thats basically about me

ps:if any magician wants to produce bowling ball in their routine dont waste money to buy a new one cost more than RM200 at least i can give u free. i have more than 20 in my house from 10 pauns to 16 pauns but only exclusively to the one i know :)

good day! everyone,

now i am a student studying form six in Smk Sultan Abdul Samad,PJ..
taking physics and chemistry.
planning to study psychology at local U..(so far i only know there is only 1 local U has psychology course which is in sabah or sarawak,i forget already.).
But i feel like kinda hard to find a job with psychology in Malaysia, or maybe i will change my mind to studying other course.

i love mental magic! much ,very much ..when you "tackle" people with your mental magic, you actually "tackle" people's mind ,and their mind stuck there unable to think more futher. it sound cool right.
i like to see people face expression(haha sound weird), and mental magic is able to give me more time to interact with people, eyes contact, and more time to observe.
i like the part when i perform, they listen carefully>> STUN!>>and laugh."how this can be done"..and gave them something, and i am sure they got lot of stuff talking to their friends and a unforgetable day!.

and i going to join AND1 freestyle competation before i over 21 yearsold.
i like music.. freestyle..basketball. damn cool!!!

meanwhile waiting for the stpm result , i am sure that will find a job and earn some money. is it better to find some job which related with magic? like bar and restaurant magician, magic promoter.(gonna start to selfpromoting
 )

:P i quite active to help other , so far i did 3 times of the stage show and 1 time of the close up. all FOC ha charge food only not money. those are farewell party for the society which in school hall and close up is for the teacher's day to the teachers.

who's next?

Foo Kok Wah - June 14, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
hi everyone..

i am now a 17 years old student studying form 5,studying at SMK Taman Johor Jaya (1) Johor Bahru. I am a science stream student, the reason i choose to study in science is that I can't really understand Malay very well, and all other classes is using malay to teach their subject, only our science is being teach in english.

This year I am sitting for my SPM, which is very stress because my result has been very poor recently and my parent is hoping me to get a very good result. My hobby is Magic, i love it very much. The best thing I get from performing to people is not money, is their reaction after finish watching my performance, how they get shock and surprise.

Hi, everyone. Here’s something about me..

I’m still a student, I study in Sri Petaling, KL, in a Christian school. Going to have my PMR examinations this year, and if I achieve good results in this examination, I get to stay in this school next year.

I’m a “quite active” song leader in my school chapel. I love sports and music alot. Got to appreciate sports competitions before my secondary life’s over. :D

I love magic, and am currently addicted to a false cut. Performing magic gives me a kind of joy and satisfaction when I see their reactions, when they laugh, when they are stunned, when it lits up their day...

Sukyi - June 16, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
