Title: Magic Shops In Malaysia
Description: Please describe products & services.

xron - June 11, 2007 03:50 AM (GMT)
Reason for starting this thread is that there's not much review of magic shops in Malaysia. Or should I say, latest reviews. Since now that the Asia Magic Festival 2007 is over, I'm sure there will be many people looking and hunting for magic shops. A review would be good as we then would know what to expect when we are around the area or in the shop(s).

Currently as I know there's been quite a number of magic shops in Malaysia:-

1. Magic Ring - Berjaya Times Square
2. Magic Club - Summit USJ, PJ + Mahkota Parade(Melaka) + Dataran Pahlawan(Melaka)
3. Magic-i - Sunway Pyramid & 1 Utama(new wing)
4 Eye-Magic - Klang
5. 2 Shops/stalls in Sarawak (dunno the name)
6. The one in Puduraya(also dunno the name)
7. Andy Magic - 3rd Floor Sungei Wang Plaza
8. ??

Those without shops or just doing services of ordering, kindly do not post to advertise here. This thread is meant for magic shop reviews.

I'll do my review when time permits.

Xron

Which part of puduraya? You meant inside the bus station? Or some where around? Please guide how to get to NEW MAGIC! Thanks!

Christopher Ng - June 22, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
its inside puduraya
beside the transnational counter, u see many shop rows, try to look for the shop in between these shop.
Its at the left side of the transnational counter

Its quite old with many newspaper cuttings pasted all over the door and the owner is David.
U can see many horror masks and a 'shit' toy from the glass outside the shop

Magic Spot - Plaza Pelangi, Johor Bahru
Top Floor
Owner - Peter Chua
He is about mid 40 yrs old, friendly and experienced Magician who has made headlines during 1990s.

Has quite a variety of products and offer services too.
Regular & G*ff Decks, DVDs, Stage Props, Close-up and etc.
The products sold are strictly Original and are in good quality.
Pricing are moderate but always negotiable.

Thats all for my brief reviews.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (for those who are still young, that' s a reference to the black round vinyl audio device ^_^ ) the best shop to me is still The Magic Annexe's Magic Shoppe.
Just search on this forum for other reviews and info that can be found in other threads in this forum. I am not going to give any more details ... so don't ask me for any more elaboration. Let's not be lazy. A little effort to research will be worth your time.

Having said that .. I forsee that there will be one ... no ...two people who as this thread grows will ... attempt the easy way out ... and post a one liner that is along the lines of ..."where is this magic shop located ah?" I am a mentalist, that's how I know :D

Agreed with you 100% Paul. A lot of people these days are taking the easy way out. There will be plenty of reasons like, I am not familar with the place, or I don't know the place well, I am not from that state, etc...

We are in a modern era now. If one can post in here, I am sure that that person will have access to the internet. A simple search would definitely come out with some results. Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe a lot of you in the forum has yet to experience the working world or if you have, the worst might yet to come. Believe me, it is a very cruel world. It will do you good if you can learn how to obtain information now before you venture out.

kuantan?iskk.. :(

zhongyan - January 31, 2008 07:47 PM (GMT)
Been to magic spot before.

He isn't particularly friendly.I think its because i dont know him well enough

His decks/props are way overpriced except his rider backs.Imagine a stripper deck for RM100??Thats crazy!

In the end, came back with a rider back costing RM15.Good price i would say.

The experience is not too bad.Might be considering another trip since thats the only magic shop i know of in johore..

Are you sure it's the right shop?

I bought Stripper decks there for RM50 not RM100. If not mistaken the only deck that's more than RM100 is a kind of m**k*d deck.

zhongyan - February 1, 2008 06:38 AM (GMT)
Yeah its the right shop.

I cant quite remember whether it is a svengali or stripper..

What i can remember is that a invisible deck is RM75.
