Title: 1st Trip To Magic Ring
Description: My story of my experience to magic ring
Jeremy Fu - July 21, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
Dear Diary..( lol :!!: )
On July 20,me and my friends went to Times Square. Squeezed into the evelator,we went up to the 7th floor. It was just a normal Friday yet they were many lurkers there, mostly are of secondary students...in pairs. At the T-junction I was unsure which was the way to my destination. To the right or left ? I wondered. I made my decision to walk to the right, hopping not to miss the Magic Ring as the corridor over there was quite "long". I guess we can hold a 100m race there :P
The first thing that drew my attention was the huge display of decks of cards on the walls. The various kinds of bicycle, tally ho and aviator decks hungered me. Such mouth-watering decks are the perfect buddies for a cardist like me. I like to own them all but my wallet will dry up if I spend RM80. :(
"Yes may I help you ? ",a fair guy with huge eyes came to assist me. He related the various kinds of deck to me,explaining why decks cost different from another in a friendly way, with smile on his face.
"Do you have ghost deck ? ",I revealed my mission to that shop to him. Sadly, the bicycle decks finished :( . Thus, not to make my journey from Nilai to Kl unworthly, I considered to purchase another kind of deck instead. Eventually, I bought myself a Viper Tally-Ho, my very first product from Ellusionist. Woopeeee :!!:
His name came to light when he introduced himself. He was the one who came for my aid the moment I stepped into Magic Ring.He is Winson,Winson Tan,not a worker over there but a best friend of the boss of Magic Ring. Winson introduced me some of the products for card manipulations as well as the DVDs like the Trilogy. We then had an argumentative conversation regarding the Pirated DVDs,I guessed our concepts for that topic varied. We had a nice chat either way.
"This is neither any brand of tobacco ciggarattes I find in Malaysia, what type of ciggarette is he smoking ?", I asked myself, looking towards the direction of a Malay man sitting on a chair with his hand holding a pack of cards and his mouth puffing out some strange kind of smokes. To Winson, I enquired whether the other three people in the shop. The reply was that except the Malay man and Winson, others are working there.
"Hello", greeted the Malay man with a smile.
"Show him some tricks you got", said Winson to me." He's my friend, a magician from Indonesia."
This was my very first time performing to an internasional stage magician,Mr Robbinson, who had been to 52 countries worldwide. I did a card trick and managed to "entertained" him because he didn't notice I forced a card to him at the very beginning. I then performed some other tricks to Winson and Robbison and Eric ( an assistant worker of Magic Ring ).
I was glad that after my show, they gave me a very good comments regarding my magic. Here I would like to share out what they told me in below :
1) Whenever you do a trick, do it slowly because when you do it promptly, laymen will say that it is because magicians' hands are fast so magcians can do it. ( Robbinson and Winson Tan )
2) When performing a trick, don't show the easy things complicated but show the complicated things easy ( Winson Tan )
Eventually,I would like to say thank you to Mr Robbison and Winson for the valueble lessons I learnt. Thank you Winson for your coke, your treat of Teh-ais and toasted breads in the wonderful reastaurant and some Magician's posters you promised giving me.
Wuspert,
Jeremy Fu ^_^
To Winson who stopped forumming in this MMF forum due to some reasons but will update himself in this forum daily,
Psss, You may drop the posters perhaps to Eric when you happen to go to Magic Ring and give me a call,I'll collect it. Thanks and nice to meet you. B)

Yup! Just smile, look earnest, and be attentive! They're nice people, unless it happens to be a rainy day..... ;)

Eh you are a girl... different...
Now what'd they do if they knew you are a feminist... lol!
If you have to act like a noob to please them I doubt that they are nice people at all.
However, of course you don't act like a know-it-all. It's just part of being polite. Of course, if they ask you whether you know how they did it, then feel free to say haha.
