I would have missed it if Yukiko had not instant messaged me like 15 mins before it started.. thanks girl.. :)

It's great to see that level of performance standard among out fellow magicians in Malaysia, even better is that some are forumites here.

There were 5 performers as mentioned above. Each presented a stage routine, a sort of impromptu routine, and street magic. Kenneth Wong was the one of the judges.

Is this a 1 off or a series?

Any repeats?

I think its a one off thing.

The program "Battle of the Best" is like competition between all sorts of professions. Yesterday's episode is battle between Magicians. Next episode is cooking i think.

Yes... thanks Yukiko for instant MSN me. Shon also.. thanks :)

I had a good time watching it.

It was good to see everyone of the 5 who competed on national TV. Very encouraging and cool. THey each have their own style. Kenneth Wong was a good judge and he gave some great pointers.

Kenoph... the swallowing of razor blades freaked me out a lil... hehe... was worried it cut the sides of ya lips haha. But the drawing block card prediction was great. Nice.

Streetmagic wise... I like ROy's performance a lot. Good use of people and interaction with them. Can see everyone had a great time.. i like the OOoo... aaah.... hehe

Marzuki had some nice coin work and productions. I like the pen trick. Very funny and entertaining. Always known him for being a funny guy. haha.

Forrest, the man into coins.. nice jumbo coin production at the end. Suprise ending there :)

Sam Chan, nice parlour and street performance too... card thru window... nice :)

ROy... hehe always the romantic magician... I think it was his street magic performance which got him the highest mark for that comp.

ALL in ALL.. Im very proud of these people especially for KEnoph and Forrest who are buddies from MMF. Great Job guys!

brendan i msn-ed you also!

yinhowe - July 22, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Yeah, each of the 5 have different characters and styles.
Sam with canes and silks, Kenoph's prediction effect, Forrest's coins(nice muscle pass), Marzuki and his Re-capped comedy routine, and Roy's floating rose.

I think patter-wise can see that most are not used to pattering in mandrin. From the street magic leg of the programme, for example, Kenoph, was much more natural when patterign in english , although out of all the performers Kenoph's patter was the best IMO.

The production and editing was also much better, camera shots were at a good angle etc.

Kenneth gave very good advice on audience participation, eye contact, suspense, presentation, costume etc.
