What you guys think about this card production ? I try to master it but along the way I find it weird as I think what type of face expression shall I display to the audience.

What ever expression u like to show....

perhaps a "suprised" or "wow" expression?

VincentP - July 30, 2007 08:50 AM (GMT)
What is it actually? Can you describe the effect?

Your reaction depends on your performing personality. You may react jokingly to it, act like it's a big shock and jump, just act like there's nothing to it and it's normal, act like it's irritating.

So, all I can say, it depends on the mood of the situation and your performing personality. It's unique to you. Don't ever try to copy someone else's. (I'm not saying you do! - sheesh these lines are getting annoying. maybe I should just put a line in my signature saying, when I suggest something, I'm not implying that you are not doing so or are doing otherwise. It's just a suggestion!)

Hmm.. it's a card production technique a little similiar to back palm production just only it is done with both hands.

Effect :

Performer hold both hands and stretch their palms face up and down to the audience infront. Cards is/are produced between the palms when showing their face up palm to the audience. ( like when you yawn, you stretch your hands in front like dat lor )

Haha, if so, it might be fun if you were pretending to yawn, then the cards suddenly appear when you are in the process of covering your mouth.

You could then look surprised, then proceed to fan yourself a little bit with the cards and continue with your act. ;)

Interlock card production is just another way to produce cards. It is good to learn and practise it but unfortunately it is not practical in choreographing a card manipulation act.

Many top card manipulators, after sometime, dropped their interlock production from their routine or act.

In card manipulation it is important to do the following well ...

* single card snap production with right hand

* split fans with right hand

* front palm single card production with left hand

* front palm split fans with left hand

* front and back palm

* stack palm and tenkai palm with both hands

* card fanning - with both hands and single hand

The above skills are important for a card production routine.

Then pay attention to stringing them together and choreograph it with a good piece of music, and work out a stage character for your performance.

Hope this helps.

Thks James for you advice. Basically all of the moves I know but I'm not very good at them, meaning I don't practice often and everytime I do,people may see some cards "flashing" appearances. I'm now currently training my left hands to do the front and back palms more smoothly.
