What are you like when you are performing magic? Acting all mysterious? Comedian? Just doing things very quickly? Or basically just do the tricks without any specific style?
I LOVE  the style of David Acer, Greg Wilson, and Tom Mullica. They are quick and witty, AND seriously funny at the same time! But to myself, I'm doing my routines blended with comedy, and yet without the speed of those maestros :)
What are you guys like?

Hi doktokaro,
Yeah! An excellent post! B)
Yes, if I have the chance, I would like use some mysterious kind of style in my act. Another one is Guy Hollingworth's style, I like his gentleman style presenting his effects.
I also like Peter Duffie's style where he looks professional of presenting his effects.

I'm more of a pistachio. I'm all hard on the outside, but when you get to know me inside, I'm really one hell of a nut.

I guess our style should simply be who we are...
It'll be weird if a normally shy guy becomes whacky Jay Sankey when he performs

i usually play the bumbling idiot who gets his tricks wrong.
i also have my "bomoh ilmu hitam" persona. hehe

my stlye?
hm,,, i got split personality sometimes,
coz tis question evokes me and making me realize i got 2 styles..
one is more toward the modest and stuck up style, NEH,AMAZING OR NOT? or YES!! I MADE IT!!
The second style of mine would be asian comedic style...
tis is because i found myself hardly being able to be mysterious and serious, though i like channing pollock, david copperfield, or tim kole style of behaving..
yes, i`m talking abt not much smiles and focusing on ur magical fingers..
simply becoz of one thing, i`m not leng chai or handsome enuf.
i kinda not like jc Sum style.. cuz he try the mysterious and no smiling type of style..
plz, take a mirror or buy one,*ehem*...
dun focus magician alone, take a look, wang le hom and nicholas tze...they can be wildy attractive even when they perform without smile.girls can scream and boys can envy. wat if wong jing and Ah Lek not smile most of the time... who want to see them perform? i`m trying to share one thing here is tat we need to take a look at our face and how we are classified among close friends. if u are famous among friends as the fella who knows george bush is somewhere near the bush, knows the best source of vitamin C, then these kinda ppl can do mysterious style,Cuz it is "them" when they perform.. u may ask, if got style and not look?
then u need go to do research on fashion. wat style of hair, wat kinda glasses, or body gear suits ur style. erm... some example would be like deddy corbuzier and max maven, they are not handsome, but they do act, walk and behave to their special style, and they "package themselve" tat way.
brendan, hop u dun mind i say tis, from ur face in friendster and they way u talk in MSN, i found out a good fluid smile and humble way of dressing is the MOST pleasing...(juz a suggestion),
i`m by the way found out tat whenever i am with a bunch of sporting friends, i have the instinct tat make the environment a riot of laughter most of the time(not avtime) well, tats y i choose my path as the comedy performer..
I`M NOT PRAISING MYSELF, OK? MAYBE I CHOSE THE WRONG PATH, BUT I`LL KEEP DISCOVERING MYSELF MORE IN MAGIC..

Haha.... You have you point Eugie. ^_^
Yes, where the audience want to see and enjoy your magic if you have a dull face.
But, I think most importantly is dress nice and clean when you perform magic, this is top priority. ^_^
I think most importanly is still in ourself, we are the one that have to adjust or adapt our own unique style that has with us.
Sometimes, I think it's difficult to copy other magician's style.
