These 2 books by David Regal have been receiving nothing but praises..
I'm sure Andrew will agree to this...

There are very interesting ideas and methods that David Regal uses...
However, his famous and great routines require gimmicks that you have to build yourself...and there's this one card trick which apparently is very very good require some gimmicked card which can't be made, and gotta buy a trick which has those cards...

Honestly speaking, though Regal is good and creative, I don't do much stuff from these books....
Don't get me wrong, they are good books...just that it doesn't quite fit my style therefore I do not perform much of it...
I asked one of Australia's most experienced magician bout this books compared with Paul Harris Art of Astonishment series....he said that both books are creative and heading the same way....but that AoA is more practical...

However, if you like his Tricks, more tricks DVD series and his Premise, Power, Participation DVDs as well, then u'll probably like this book coz lots of tricks from the DVDs are from the book....

But i keep these books more as a collection (they are signed too! hehe) rather than something I gain lots of stuff from...

Hi Eric,

Yeah! Some part I have to agree with you, especially the Volume 2, not much I use his materials in that book as this book is more into 'gimmick' stuffs.

Volume 1 I can say I use quite a number of card effects in that book, many wonderful stuffs in there. :P

In other words, if you guys are not really into 'gimmick' stuffs, then don't purchase volume 2, otherwise, you will say is not enjoyable to own the book.

This is one of the best books I've laid my hands on. Don't forget Close Up And Personal by David Regal himself!

Hi folks,

Yeah! Close up and personal also a favourite book of mine. There's a T&R effect namely the reparation by John Lovick, and there are so many excellent card effects in this book.

I use quite a number of effects in this book and I think it's just awesome! ^_^
