Taufiq - October 23, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
hey guys..i just thought of somthing...since dvds or vcds from the states are so expensive and hard to get (especially if ur a student like me..) why dont our magician maybe gather up and make a dvd...i mean..its not like only white ppl can do magic..coco ppl can also do what...^_^
for one it will lower the cost of dvds for us not so rich ppl and make it easier for usto learn new tricks...plus u could even get some moolah... ^_^
so whatdo ya think bout it??

Just my 2 cents, its a bad bad move, for a lot of reasons. I don't have the time to list them all out, but to summarise, legal issues, ethical issues among others.

:(
How long have you been into magic..?
I think you must be kinda new, I suppose...
>> since dvds or vcds from the states are so expensive and hard to get
Magic is an expensive hobby
it has to be an expensive hobby
and it always will be an expensive hobby for many good reasons.
If magic can be acces so easily will magic be magic..?
>> especially if ur a student like me.
I been through that stage like you before...
The answer is save your money till you afford to get them...
You'll learn to appreciate and value the art more...
>> why dont our magician maybe gather up and make a dvd
I suppose you are refering to produce our own material and market it right..?
Well, that's a good idea, many local good magicians thought of doing so
I still haven't seen any DVDs been produced yet but I do know a magician
who belongs to MMF (Sorry, I can't re-call his name now) as well
has produced booklets on cards effect.

If you think about it, magic is only expensive if you have to follow the latest and the biggest :)

You know that's the truth.

Unless your sleights/invention/trick/etc is totally "ORIGINAL", meaning that they are not published nor have any patent registered in anywhere around the world, if not I don't see why we need to create our own Magic Learning CD/DVDs.
Why? Because......
I would rather refer to experts advice which are in different catagories, for example: Card Magic - Professor Dai Vernon, Coin Magic - J. B. Bobo, and etc, rather than average magicians reproducing the same materials by crediting them at the end of the video.
If not then everyone wants to produce Magic Learning CD/DVDs for their own income. Don't get me wrong!
If you are ORIGINAL and your invention is INGENIUS, I'll definetly support you all the way as I would like to see a Malaysian shines in the Magic Industry and being recognize by the world. Who wouldn't want that as a Malaysian?
If not, then just stick to the Experts will do. ;)
Cheers,
