Title: Pk Rings And M5
Description: Anyone out there who are into these??

Adrian Khoo - November 17, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Hi members,
Hope everyone is in great condition. It has been a long long while since the last i posted. Anyway, i'm just wondering whether is there actually anyone who are into these? I personally think it's good to have either of this handy. Many mind blowing effect could be performed if used properly but Let's not get to the concepts. Have you purchased any of this and is it worth your investment? How many is there who are actually interested but never got it due to limitations? Feel free to share.

Hey there... I have a PK ring and i have been using it for awhile now... But the only things I can do with it is disappearing coins, stop time, switch of hand phones...

Is there like a lot more ways in which I can use this item or is that the limit of it...

Since you yourself use it I was hoping if you could recommend any books or dvd's that teach you how to use a PK ring in many ways...

Adrian Khoo - November 18, 2007 12:26 PM (GMT)
Hi Jon,
Switch of HP? or switch "OFF" HP? But it's a nice effect thou.
Other possible effects, Coin thru glass table, card thru window, coin or cap into bottle. I think these are good effects.
As for M5, similar things could be done. As recomended by ellusionist. Moving of non-metal object, vanish and pk effect.
Books? I guess the best things imagination and creativity. Try to experiment with object. i guess thats the best
Thanks for the response thou

Yea, i was pretty interested a month back to get myself a Raven. And then i started browsing through other forums, and i got confused of which to get : Raven2x, M5, or black widow. But then again, maybe i didn't read properly. They can't all do similar things right? Not really sure which is the best investment for me.

Not really interested in PK rings. At the moment.

Sukyi - November 19, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
i know a couple manufacturers of PK rings. some of you know i've got my own. never really used it though. did a few hair clip vanishes and stuff with it... never anything much. i mean... i'm a flourisher/gambler... i don't have much use for them... :P i have like... 4 or 5 in my size which i throw against my fridge to see if it'll break. lol...

The Black Widow serves a totally different purpose to a Raven and an M5
People tend to confuse it.

VincentP - November 19, 2007 09:03 AM (GMT)
Mind expanding, Amane? Since some of our members (and myself included) appear to confused too.

I own a G2 WPK Ring and rarely performs with it as quite many of the 'tricks' that performed with PK Ring can be duplicate using sleight-of-hand techniques. However, some effects you do really need a PK Ring to achieve it.
I believe its a personal preference, who knows some day someone might invent a mindblowing effect that requires the usage of a PK Ring.

Here's what I do know about Black Widow as I've seen it myself.
It's a 60% similar device compared to the Raven. I'm not too sure about the improvements or modifications on Raven x2. So, I'll be just comparing to Raven 1st Edition. Regarding Black Widow, it's easier to operate without worrying any sloopy executed movements. You don't have to get yourself in a 'Ready' position, so to speak. That means, you are ready to perform anytime once you have it on. All I can say that it just comes naturally when you wave your hands over the object to change/vanish the object. For Raven, you need to be in a 'Ready' position, that's all.

The price range for Black Widow and Raven is very far. Some people may think that Black Widow is worth the money, some don't. I personally think that it's overpriced for such a device as it's just the 'Ultimate' version of Raven.

As for M5, I don't own it neither do any of my friends. All I know that it's more of a PK device.

Dear Roy Foo,
Perform stop time, switch of hand phones, cap into bottle using slights without the help of WPK or something similar but using sleight. It's still possible thou.
I don quite like raven. The effect is nice. Mayb i just find it tedious setting up.
I've never seen a Black Widow in performance thou.
M5 also needs lotsa setting up. But self stirring coffee is a great effect- no setup for this thou. with the right spoon ofcoz.
Sukyi, 4 or 5 but not using them? How come get so many when ur not using them?

Amane - November 19, 2007 11:40 AM (GMT)
You do realize that a black widow is usually used as a hold out?
It's much more than either a PK ring or an M5.

p.s. mods can edit my post if that was counted as exposure.

Sukyi - November 19, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
Hey Adrian! Long time no see! i wanted to make my own because the amount for a WPK was ridiculous. so i got hold of a magnet supplier and got them really cheap.. have a few designs that make the rings look more discreet and not just any other wedding band style ring... but yeah... i'm not into PK magic... so it was kinda wasted...

Adrian Khoo - November 20, 2007 11:32 AM (GMT)
Hi ^_^ ,
Glad that u stil remember me. haha. Tot u were still studying oversea. Oh, i get what u mean now. Where u got the supplier then? Mind emailing me their contact. If it's reasonable. Why not.

I would like to know Jon Goh's attempt to switch off handphone using the PK Ring. What is the phone model that you use for the effect? I have definately tried using a very powerful of similar item but nothing happened. But i did read it somewhere ppl accidently turned off their cell phone when they answered it. Anyone with proven attempts?

David Loh - November 29, 2007 02:25 PM (GMT)
Interesting, I have a couple of old phones and I've just got my hands
on some pretty small but powerful neo's. Will attempt the handphone
switch off and post my results.

zhongyan - November 29, 2007 04:53 PM (GMT)
wow...i didnt know the pk ring could do so many tricks..might be getting them soon...

Its also kinda weird wearing them for a student like me though. ;)

with thought to the construction of a phone, i'd say don't do it. you never want to mess with magnetism and electronics. the phone may just switch off completely.

Adrian, I lost the contact of the supplier because I decided not to do that anymore. Sorry.

David Loh - November 29, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
Tried it on a Nokia 6260. Nothing happened.

There are other ways to shut down phones or make it do things
by itself if you want to besides the PK ring way.

Adrian Khoo - November 30, 2007 03:06 PM (GMT)
Hahah. Thanks David for the reassuring. Actually, i've tried with PLENTY of powerful neos. Even with the highest grade. Nothing happened. That is why i'm a bit doubtful with the method.
Anyway, i dont think m***** is that dangerous for electronic part of compared to Electrostatic. But definately don try it with your atm, credit and telefon card. I've been there too. Accidently left my wallet on the neos. But surprisingly everything went alrite AFTER a month. I was just lucky back then.
But towards electronic gadgets? Its certainly not good for CRT's (Cathode Ray Tube). Means television, and pc monitors (not LCD). Funny colours would come out. It can permanently mess up the colour of your CRTs if exposed for too long.

Dear Sukyi.
It's ok. Just asking as i was planning to find material other stuffs. Thanks thou :)

Sukyi - November 30, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
Well, don't know how relevant it is. I remember when I wore a PK Ring and answered my phone with the hand that had the ring, my phone started calling randomly/hanging up unexpectedly/couldn't access my phone book. Anyone else have problems like that? If it matters, my phone is a nokia n73.

David Loh - December 2, 2007 10:14 AM (GMT)
That could be the powers of your PK ring wiping your SIM/memory card or
temporary denied it from the phone itself.

Owh adrian, highest grade u say? N52? Max i could find is N42 and that is
just too weak for what i wanted it for. Can't locate any company that sells
to individuals.

Adrian Khoo - December 3, 2007 06:26 AM (GMT)
David,
The highest that I've found so far is N50. The company didn't want to supply any to me as well. He claims that N45 and above are normally only applied for industrial purposes. And he it is very dangerous for us (non-pro) to handle it as well. Not dangerous in terms for health, but injury caused by the attracted objects and crushing of fingers. I realized that Grade is not a major issue but the size and m******** area is.
Maybe we can discuss and come out with a solution for your application.

Adrian Khoo - December 12, 2007 10:09 AM (GMT)
For those who already owns the PK rings and lack of idea on what can be done. Here are a list of possible effects extracted from the "Wizard PK Ring DVD" by World Magic Shop. Use your imagination and you'll know what to do.

Coin thru can, Glass bottle penetration, Plastic bottle penetration, Matchbox penetration, Psychic matchbox, Stopping time, Haunted deck, Deck penetration, Coin transpo, Psychic coins, Coin balance, Chopless chopcup, Haunted fork, The haunted tom, and Beer mat penetration.
