Title: Review Of Sealed & Stuck

David Loh - November 23, 2007 12:56 PM (GMT)
Sealed & Stuck came in the mail sometime ago and I felt that I have to
review Ace's DVD here.

WHAT IS TAUGHT...
4 ways to put a coin into a bottle. 3 of them requires setup while 1 of it
is impromptu.

S1, Slam a large coin into an empty bottle
S2, Melt a large coin into a factory sealed bottle
S3, Same as S2 but with a signed large coin
S4, Impromptu version

THE REAL DEAL...
Ace's effect with coin into factory sealed bottle requires a short setup
and a nice gimmick. Setup is easy and real fast, and the gimmick is a
smart idea :)

With that said, S1 to S3 is not impromptu but you can come up with
ways to make it impromptu.. or when done well enough, the spectators
would not care about "impromptu-ness".

What separates Ace's effect from other CTBs? You have a coin in your
hand. Let the coin touch the bottle and it melts in and floats down.
Show your hand instantly clean. Of course, Ace's setup is so versatile
you can even bring other CTB methods like Nick Verna's into play.
Or even an Impervious type of penetration.

After the effect, you get to hand out the factory sealed bottle with a
coin larger than the mouth of the bottle to the spectators. They get to
inspect the bottle and its indeed a normal bottle and a normal coin.
So the term impromptu is not required since they get to inspect it.

HOW HARD IS THIS...
They are some sleights involved to perform this, but if you can do
Sinful, you can do this. The angles are pretty good too.

THE GIMMICK...
Is cheap and no one will suspect you're using one.

THE CONS...
The only cons would be the packaging and the menu of the DVD could
be a little better. Haha Ace, maybe you should even include a teaser
into the DVD for your next effect.

Owh, if being totally impromptu is your style, I guess that would be
another con.

OVERALL...
The strong points of Ace's CTB is his speedy setup and coin penetration
idea. Everything taught in the DVD is versatile and you can mold these
into your very own CTB.

Thanks for the review!

Hope you will have fun performing the CTBs. =)
