Title: Wynns Are Coming Out! From D&d
Description: Anyone going to get them?

David Loh - December 23, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
Hi, I noticed Wynns are offered at dananddave.com at quite a good price.
Tempted to bring in 24 bricks for myself.

Anyone here have experience with Wynns? A short review would be
appreciated :)

Thanks

I got my Brown wynns 2 days ago! they are nice cards. i think the stock is same like other casino bee decks. They feel like old stud to me. Not stiff in my opinion.

For red and blue wynns, I do not own them at the moment. I can't comment on those decks. I'm planning to order some next year. :P

CardicianAndy - December 24, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
Are you sure ? 24 bricks is 288 deck of wynns .

David Loh - December 25, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
Whoops, posted too fast there, i meant 24 decks.

Brendan Low - December 29, 2007 04:42 AM (GMT)
Yups, placed my order for a brick (12 decks) already.

USD is low now, so good time to buy guys! (Thanks to YinHowe for the tips. hehe)

Nice price for WYNN.

Will be carrying in a couple to sell in my web.
Price might be slightly higher in case those who just want 1 or 2 to play around with. :P

WYNN brown
The look
Awesome + Elegant. 15++/10

The Feel
weird stuff happen, I open a deck and Sze Howe open a deck from a different brick. Mine cannot really fan well, sticky. SH's deck can fan perfectly nice, smooth but clump up a bit.

Overall it is stiffer.

8+/10

Final Result 9/10 for WYNN.
For it's Hype but on this price.
Worthy.

Thanks for the info Shawn and Isaac.

Well I was excited to get 2 bricks. Until I remembered that playing cards are
taxed 10% here in msia.... :(

Not sure for personal use taxed or not but still.... :(

isaac - December 30, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)
it is 20% + 10% service tax. Enjoy :D

David Loh - December 30, 2007 08:45 AM (GMT)
30% ??? OMG that just blows. Mission aborted.

isaac - December 30, 2007 10:38 AM (GMT)
dude, it really depend on custom's mood that day.

My advise if that you want to order from US directly, order small amount - below RM500, if possible below RM300 (inclusive shipping fees).

If not, be prepared to pay a visit to our royal custom.
2ways to settle them,
1st, Pay the total taxes.
2nd, Teh O Ice + Kopi (which I strongly disagree in doing so, but it will save you a lot)

Overall these Wynn's - Brown/Red/Violet
are really not that great
Brown ones are jumbo indexed but the Red and Violet are standard
Brown ones have a better finish but the Red and Violet are stiffer

comparing it against a normal deck of bikes.......meh not much of a comparison
Bikes and tallys win big time....
If you're a card collector I suggest picking up a couple decks...
If you just want some to play around with....you'd probably be sadly disappointed.
Too much 'Hype' of this feeling like Jerry's...
The only resemblance is probably the stiffness and clumpiness
In fact Jerry's are pretty bad cards overall as well...

Personal preference I guess but I suggest to anyone thats thinking of buying a lot,
Try it before buying it....

David Loh - December 30, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
Jerry's aren't that good?

Hehe Brandon, can you comment on Jerry's?

As far as personal preference goes, I prefer thin decks and I want them
to be stiff/snappy. By browsing around other forums, I had the impession
this is true on Jerry's.

Clumpy + stiff + thin deck = easier for me to learn flourish (non fanning)
compared to the thick stock and slippery normal bikes.

Recently, I found 2 old decks stashed away in my dad's drawers. They're
around 25+ years old. Fit my preference perfectly :)

Back on topic, most probably I'll get them for isaac a blue wynn once
he carries it. 2 bricks of wynns are way over rm300 and the possibility
of another 30% is just crazy.

szehowe - December 31, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
It really depends on people's opinion and personal perferences. For me i won't take my WYNN's to play like normal playing cards.

I agree with isaac. The Brown WYNN's are stiffer and clump a bit but the look of the deck is really elegant.

I can't comment on the Jerry vs WYNN thing as i don't own a deck of jerry.

For me i will still prefer using Tally's more than Bike. But then again i will be always using JAWS :)

Shawn J.L - December 31, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
the Wynn decks at Dnd are out of stock! :(

David Loh - December 31, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
I guess they're rare items again :)

But you'll never know suddenly years from now Nuggets for $2.99
or another bunch of Wynns uncovered LOL

Amane - December 31, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Nah doubt it,
The supply of brown wynns are running short, there were only like 15,000 of them around when Kenner bought them all up. (and T11 already sold a couple thousand)
As for the Red/Violet ones there were still like 50,000 of them
thats why they're going for cheaper.
And like I said earlier, the Red/Violet ones feel different from the Brown ones...

The supply of jerry's on the other hand are running scarcely low....
But really nothing to shout about...

David Loh - December 31, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
Tip for the card lovers/magicians/XCMers.

If you ever go to Las Vegas, test out each hotel/casino deck available
at their sourviner store. If you find a good one... buy as much as you
can, you'll never know someday....

Amane, I thought there is still a large amount of nuggets?
Bought by some french dude.

Amane - December 31, 2007 05:20 AM (GMT)
Large is by relative terms.
probably a lot less than the available brown wynns.

Brendan Low - January 2, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, i cant really comment on Jerry Nuggets as the deck I got is an old one. They dont fan anymore but they are still v stiff and looking great.

However, I find TH9s to be the best cards out there. WPT bees are good too. Bikes are great too... lol...

I doubt the quality of Wynns will outbeat the ones mentioned above, but I got it more for collection and coz i love cards with solid backs and boarders.

Nicholas Ooi - February 28, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
I have only a red Wynn...

Getting a few more soon....

Wynns are good for flourishing because they stay together and do not drop off or slip compared to tally ho and bikes.....

pluz its kinda cheap now..... lolz...

zhongyan - February 29, 2008 12:15 PM (GMT)
Personally i feel that wynn decks are just a hype...nothing much to shout about

Normal bikes are of better quality than wynns(that's just my opinion)

Wynns are very nice decks which can attract attention.

For me i'm just getting wynns for collection purposes

For thos who wants to buy wynns...dont buy red ones...cuz they cant fan right out of the box..blue ones fans well...havent tried browns ones..getting them soon :D

David Loh - March 1, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
True that wynns are a hype. I'm just stuck with tally ho right now.
Superb in my opinion.. better than bicycle.

zhongyan - March 2, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
ermmm..just wanna know has anyone handled brown wynns before??

If they are good/better than bikes/tally then i might get them..

p/s: my previous post i was talking about red/blue wynns.
