Bryan - December 26, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
should i consider this trick as close up trick?i juz bought a linking ring ,may i know is this linking ring can do the routine as shoot ogawa ninja ring do?

VincentP - December 26, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
Hey Brian, yes that can be done close-up, right in front of their eyes. I've done it before, assuming you're using the ninja rings. The big stage rings are a no no I think.

Linking ring can be done in Parlour - Stage Situation.

Ninja ring can be done in Close up - Parlour :)

if you own a smaller size linking rings, it's okay if you don't mind to bring a bag out. but about the move, some of the handling might be slighty different. :)

It's basically the same. Both of them are rings. Ninja rings are smaller ring. When Ninja rings grow up, it becomes Linking rings.( Crap) Anyway, i think this is the better way to explain it :D You can learn it from World Greatest Magic, Linking Rings.

Not entirely true. The big rings are actually called Samurai Rings, and then if no one owns the samurai rings (example, if the owner loses them or throws them away), they become Ronin Rings.

Ninja rings are the those type that when after you buy them and keep them in your cupboard and when you want to use them you cannot find them, and they seem to just disappear.

Samurai rings and ronin rings cannot link with a ninja ring, because only a ninja can link a ninja.

:P ;) :ph43r:

Oh yeah, I forgot about the biggest ring of them all, the lord of the rings.

Yes there are two sizes of linking rings on the market, shoot ogawa's (smaller) and the bigger one, but still not stage sized.

You can still get the linking rings routine of Shoot Ogawa's DVD, and also get the DVD suggested by Victor, The World's Greatest Linking Rings, and then mix the two to create your own routine.

When you guys say "linking rings" only, are you referring to Jay Sankey's?

actually linking rings and ninja rings are basically the same. the difference is the size of the rings. linking rings are bigger rings while ninja rings are smaller rings.

Okay, just to clear things up. We have:

1. Ninja rings by Shoot Ogawa - small, suitable for close-up

2. Linking rings (small) - slightly bigger than the ninja rings, but still suitable for close-up. Costs less too!

3. Linking rings (stage size) - this is something like the ones Dai Vernon uses in his symphony of the rings. Only for stage use.
