Title: Routining?
Description: Need ideas.

Well, I know what response I'll get if I ask how to create a routine. So I'm asking a different question here... haha.
Can you guys share your magic routines here? So I can get some ideas, and inspiration from them.. :P
Thanks. B)

so, what type of magic routine are you referring to? there're a lot of....anyway, i'm now headache with my snowstorm routine..haha

Erm, well, I'm basically need a routine to do on table, and another to do while walking around.
Haha...

You still need to be more specific.
We don't know what you can do.
Cards? Coins? Sponge? Cups and Balls perhaps?
What sort of act do you want to put together - small group? Large group? Corporate?
You need to give a lot more details before you can actually start shaping your routine.
Ken - February 26, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
Erm, I thought this is under Card Magic section... therefore it's needless for me to say? Haha.
well, i just know card magic... hmm, i guess for now it should be small group. around not more than 10 people at once perhaps. I have never tried anything bigger, so I'm not sure if I can handle them yet.
Amane - February 26, 2008 11:59 AM (GMT)
Well if you've narrowed it down to card magic,
What tricks do you know?
Do you want to do more sleighty stuff or more mentalism type effects?
You say a group of about 10 people so i'm gonna be assuming walkaround
Therefore you should try to do tricks that do NOT utilize a table as there won't always be one.
Ken - February 26, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)
Erm, I thought I mentioned about walk around? Oh well.
Anyway, it's hard to list out what tricks I know. And thanks for your effort in helping, but I'll appreciate your help with just listing out some of your routines, so I can look and get ideas for what my routine will be.
Well, I know you're trying to help me, but now it's like helping me to create a routine, which is not what I wanted, at the moment. For now, I just want to look at people's routines, and how they compile them, how good are they, and then I slowly work on my own routine myself.
Or perhaps, you could just give me an example of routines... and example of tricks, and I'll see if I know the tricks. If I don't, I can always practice them. I prefer sleightly stuff.. and perhaps a little mentalism. Keep it minimal, as I'm not into mentalism.
Try not to limit the scope of routining by picking what I've already know.. because my tricks are mostly variations... haha.

Routining eh....
Hmm.. walk around?
Well street magic style is prob the best of the best for walk around...
This I mean ACR, Biddle, Here and There, Two card monte, transpos etc
U can also do in the hand triumph routine, twisting the aces, daley show etc etc....
If got table even better... can do more...
But yeah.. the street magic card tricks mentioned above is probably the best ones to get the best reactions...
Work on these few. Remember, quality is better than quantity.

Hmm, I'll check those out. Haha, sounds cool. B)
Ken - February 29, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
Alright, I think I came up with not 1, but 2 routines.
Now I'll just have to practise them and see how they'll turn out. Haha.

Do you think "Hypnotic" routine by Brian Tudor works when performance on the table?? I wonder.. <_<
Muhd Hilmi - March 2, 2008 11:06 AM (GMT)
hypnotic is nice but i think its too complicated to be put on the table for shows,
i personall suggest some visually tricks like david stones stuff ( i cant remember the name its a deck colour change ) or u could do some abitious routine like brendan said, n the only trick u cant leave out, THE BIDDLE , that is a must .
hahahaha
