If possible, try to record yourself with a video camera. And when you record, you have to perform the trick as if you're actually performing for your audience.
Then, look at your performance, and analyze your weaknesses, strengths.
This analysis should includes things such as:
1. Your patter : intonation, pronunciation, inflections, projection, language.
2. Your overall 'look' : how you dress, how you stand, what type of 'image' you project.
3. Audience management : eye-contact, your demeanor when speaking with the audience, etc.
4. Technical aspects of the trick itself.
Also, it's always a good idea to script your performances and be ready for each and every situation that might go wrong so that you will be able to perform as flawlessly as possible.
