Title: Bringing Cards To The Stage
Description: Using Jumbo Cards in Stage Magic

There are some card effects that can be used on stage in a regular sized playing card deck, because the audience doesn't have to see or learn a lot of card names. One example is the six card repeat, where it doesn't matter what the cards are, just the number of cards.

But for some tricks, where seeing the card is important, the answer is to enlarge the cards to jumbo size. It is now possible to print your own cards on your computer printer so you can perform many more effects on stage that ever before possible even with the standard jumbo 4 inch by 7 inch jumbos. Now your jumbo cards can be as large as the paper you you print them on.

In The Wizards' Journal #17, I have shown how to make ultra-jumbo (that's what I call cards larger than standard jumbo) versions of the Dutch Looper, the Ultimate Monte, and the Four Card Monte for stage.

Now Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki has converted many of the old standard packet tricks into versions that can be performed with Ultra Jumbo cards. He has also made it possible to turn these into kid show effects by using the popular kid's card game "Go Fish" as his theme.

Now you can jumbo size his version of Color Monte (called Go Fish Monte), or Wild Card (Go Wild Fish!) and many more. Formerly these were all packet tricks, kept in separate wallets, but because of the unifying theme, they can be routined together into a complete deck of fish cards. You have to learn some new handling with jumbo cards, but anyone who was doing any card manipulations at all will find the transition easy, and beginners can easily adapt to the simplified handlings possible with jumbo cards.
