its a series of DVDs or books?

where can i get em?

Kam - May 27, 2005 02:46 PM (GMT)
The system is explained on several booklets and DVDs I think (if I'm not mistaken)... but I learned it from Osterling's Mind Mysteries DVD set (4 DVDs, and I bought them from fellow MMF user who's been inactive for quite some time named mindfreak), vol. 2 to be specific.

Rainking, I believe you can get it from many online shop. I have a feeling I'm gonna let go the set I have... ehem, not sure when.

Hmm... seems that someone started this thread from my introduction. It's not really an effect lar. Would other magicians here agree that it's a magic tool, but no need gimmicks and use real cards. Why I say tool is because what I described is NOT the only magic trick you can do with it, but I find it the strongest.

The way I did it:
Before masuk kereta, I mix up the cards in front of my two friends, A & B. Then I pass the cards to A, ask him to cut as many times he likes while I masuk kereta to start engine. A was my front passenger.

Then I ask him to spread it to B sitting at the back, ask B to take a clump of cards out from the center of the deck. Then ask A to keep the rest of the deck so I dunno what cards are missing. Ask B to shuffle her clump of cards.

While driving, asked her to look through the cards and start the trick lor... like "Wait, stop at that 2 spades, take it out".... followed by "there's two diamond cards there, the 'bla' and 'bla'... take it out"... all the way to finish.

It got a very good reaction coz' I am driving paying attention to the road, but it's like I can see through her eyes at the cards she's holding.

Starts clean. Ends clean. They can even keep the deck. Like I said, no gimmick, and real cards. Kudos to Osterlind for this system.

That entails a lot of homework man...javalier
It is even more amazing that you could "work in out" while driving...if a person is "not good at working out", anytime he could cause an accident...

zhuanan, that means I managed to amaze my passengers with Osterlind's magic, and magicians with 'driving while working out'. :P I think if you're used to it, it comes naturally lah. Some more this magic is hands free, police won't catch.

I get what u mean...

However, to "get used to it", that would really demand a lot of effort from you, which is not easy...my salute to u!

I think amongst all that 'type' of magic style, Osterlind's method is the best because it's the cleanest I know. They can keep the deck, go to science lab and dissect it and still find nothing. :)

I do a lot of mentalism, and while Card Magic requires a lot of sleight of hands, which I'm not good at (can't do pass and double lift well), mentalism requires a lot of brain work. So it's no difference, just like practising sleight of hands lah.

this is one of the strongest trick i do with my deck.
Its in dvd 2.
Its amazingly simple, yet the effect is killer...
it never fails...
unless sometimes i had to do it right after i wake up from a nap... a bit groggy there but then...its the best effect in the whole series of Osterlind's Mind Mystery.

God, I have so much fun with the system...

...for the first time, the system is good (pun intended).
