I"m sure there are lots of John G fans out there....

Anyone planning to get this book?? A book with 13 effects if i'm not mistaken...mostly done with just one deck of cards...

I have the book. Its contains alot of workers material mainly by cards. But if to me, I still prefered his Brainstorm DVDs. The materials there is way better. This is strictly MY OPINION.

Haz...does this book require the false counts which John G used quite a lot in his Brainstorm vids??
I love the Elmsley Count, but I do not quite like doing it face up where u display a card twice...
So, anything like that??

Also..is it mostly packet tricks? or tricks with full deck?

thanks!

Hi Eric,

I read some reviews from the Magic Cafe, yeah people enjoyed this lecture note but they still thinked that his DVDs are still the best.

I am still in doubt whether to get a copy or not????

As far as I can remember, there is only one effect in the book that requires Elmsley/Ghost count. Why are you worried about showing the same face twice? I've done loads of effects which displays cards twice but I have NEVER been caught. Direct the spectators attention on the color or just do it fast and don't pay much attention on the suits. Honestly don't worry about it.

Eric,

few tips:

1. Don't try to rush the count, instead, concentrate on counting at a reasonable and constant pace, speed attracts the eye, and something which is nothing out of the normal will throw the spectator off guard when you actually count off the particular card twice

2. There has been reasonable discussion on which particular card to count twice so to raise the least suspicion. Next time you perform the count, consider using the heart. Both diamonds and hearts have a pointed edge, but only the heart has a bi-rounded top. Make any sense?

Yeah! Interesting!

Of course, nobody want to do the Elmsley Count when the Ace of Spades is on the face, sure will get caught and risky isn't it???!

I have been executing this sleight and I NEVER get caught when I am using the picture or court cards.

There's a discussion I thinked 3 months ago at the magic cafe, they found out that the Diamonds and Clubs are the least to get attention when executing this sleight.

Just my 2 cents! ;)
