but most probably i'll be getting this when i visit international magic at the end of the year....
how much did shipping cost u to malaysia??

but u're a big fan of Duffie, so no surprise that u bought this book..:P

Haha yeah, no choice, I am a bookworm for those who know me. :P

Yeah, I treat and LOVE this book very much, the materials inside a really top-notch, just like my girlfriend, everytime I need to touch this book before I am going to bed.

Yes, I see Peter Duffie as my MENTOR, the first true card magic book I first time ever read was from Peter Duffie first. ;)

Good luck in hunting Eric. :D

hey u know andrew,
i'm deciding between Complete Walton and Dave Campbell Legacy

what do you think?

Andrew Loh - November 4, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
Both are excellent but I think it would be better to purchase Dave Campbell Legacy first because it's limited edition. If it's OOP, you may then disappointed!

I am not saying Walton's books are not good but you have to spend an amount of time to digest the book as there are not many illustrations, many words to slowly digest. :) - Just like an essay! ^_^

Campbell Legacy is more easier as Peter explained the book step by step and backup with lots of illustrations for ease of following the routines.

Also, Walton is actually Peter's very close mentor, I think you know what I mean if you read Peter's materials before! ^_^

If got money, purchase both, afterall magic books are worth to invest which in turn covert into your card magic knowledge or arsenal. B)

Yup, the final decision still base on you dude. :)

My humble two cents! ;)

What bout in terms of material, Andrew? which has better effects??

Do most of the tricks in Dave Campbell rely on passes? coz i am not a big fan of the pass

I've seen Jerry Sadowitz perform some tricks from Roy Walton's book in Stuff the White Rabbit and they're pretty good tricks.
So..still deciding.hmm

Hey Andrew
Is it possible for you to record your favourite effects from both books??

I've heard bout this "Leap -Frog" and "Dave's Datty Dots" trick from DCL...wat is that bout??

So yeah, it would be great if you can do a clip of the effects from Walton & Campbell...but if not, no worries too..
thanks

Well, I am sorry, my advice to you is READ ALL OR FINISH THE BOOKS. THERE ARE MANY GOOD ROUTINES IN DAVE CAMPBELL LEGACY AS WELL AS THE WALTON BOOKS.

For your info, there are no white rabbits in the Walton book, I think this effect published in other megazines. ;)

Yup, leap frog is a nice effect. It's worth to look at Dave's Dotty Spots, and his all the cannibals routines, very nice and lots of surprises which will blow the audience away!

Eric,

No, there are not many passes used in Dave's book. Maybe one or two effects only!

I think Walton's book also used quite a number of passes in his books.

Hey, Top card cover pass is a very, very COOL move dude! ;)

can u briefly describe what leap frog and dotty dots is bout??

Andrew Loh - November 5, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
If I am not mistaken, Leap frog is a sandwich effect combines with 2 card transpositions, the surprise of this effect is very great! Killer efefct which can be done slowly and nobody can catch you. :)

The Dotty Spots, is about trasposition effect. If you perform this, audience jaws will drop on the floor! :)

still thinking between this book or Complete Walton...

maybe in the end i'll not buy both...ha

Andrew Loh - November 9, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
Eric, then I would suggest get Dave Campbell Legacy book as it's limited edition for what I know.

After you have this book, then you would consider to buy the other volumes.
